This crossed my desk yesterday: “Justin Cronin’s Passage trilogy is remarkable for the unremitting drive of its narrative, for the breathtaking sweep of its imagined future, and for the clear lucidity of its language. The City of Mirrors is a thrilling finale to a trilogy that will stand as one of the great achievements in American fantasy fiction.”—Stephen King

Hmmmm.....I am going to go with I know that Mr. King is way smarter than me and he knows something I definitely don't know but I am going to reserve this at the library and keep my gift cards.

I finished reading the Wayward Pines trilogy. I really really liked it. It was much more detailed than the tv series. There were many differences between the trilogy and the tv series but what surprised me the most was that the ending was totally different :) I liked the trilogy's ending much better than the tv series' ending.

I don't know what to read next. I really want to read The Fireman but Justin Cronin's third book in his Passages trilogy goes on sale tomorrow so I'm tempted to read it first before I forget too much about the first two books.

I've read a handful of books on the subject and find it fascinating. I always say that everyone should read The American Way of Death. Apparently, though, people in your line of business don't care for this book. I won't say you, but a lot apparently.

SO my copy of the book turned up - supposedly Acceptable condition. Mint condition more like - looking forward to getting stuck into this badboy ! :)

I forgot that I wanted to read the Wayward Pines books--thanks for reminding me! The second season starts soon. I liked the first season okay--not in love, but it was all right.

I started Joy Hill's The Fireman over the weekend and boy is it a page turner! I feared I had lost the will to read after the debacle that was Miss Peregrine's Snoozefest for Affected Bores, but The Fireman got me right back in the saddle, so to speak. It is very well written and the storytelling is fluid and riveting. I am about a 1/4 of the way through and one thing I love so far is that it does not jump around from person to person or back and forth in time. It is written in third person and focuses on the story through the eyes of one character.
Who the frick is Joy Hill???? ha! just noticed this! Some copywriter/proofreader I am.

I just downloaded The Fireman. I looked at the summaries on wiki for Passages and The Twelve before downloading City of Mirrors and decided I really wasn't in the mood to keep track of all the characters in Cronin's trilogy. I liked The Twelve a lot but it seems I can only keep like 30 characters in my mind and there just isn't room for more unless I discard one (it's a Kelly Bundy thing lol).

30? I have trouble following a dialogue sometimes these days!
