I recently finished Delta Wedding by Eudora Welty and now I have a bookmark bisecting my paperback copy of Cold Sassy Tree. Also, I am reading The Iowa Baseball Confederacy by W.P. Kinsella. His books are filled with magic, wonder and the milk of human kindness. He writes, in so many ways, of each man's quest to find significance and true purpose in the world. Kinsella was an inveterate optimist and believed in stoking the fire in every dreamer's heart. What greater endowment can a writer give his readers than this tiny seed of faith, whispering, "If you build it, he will come."
If you dream it, it will come. (Yeah, I can gush about this man all day.)
Next, I think I'm going to start The Secret History by Donna Tartt.
