On this day in 1984, one of the seminal albums of that decade was released. For an eleven year old boy growing up in the Caribbean, this is the song that made the kids in my class go to the library to learn about the Vietnam war and how the soldiers were treated by their own country upon returning home. This is the power and appeal of Bruce Springsteen's music.
I had to quote myself ("Go quote yerself!") to add two vids from 'the crazy Puddles lady', as she is occasionally referred to as, but not by me! She is wonderful, frightening, and hilarious. Not frightening? Imagine Puddles in the James Caan role in Misery, and her as Kathy Bates.
