I understand what you mean, I have a similar associations with country music too, like this one Lyle Lovett song that I can't quite recall. This Trishia Yearwood song has a similar association:This song was played so much on the radio. I have strong memories associated with it. Funny how that happens.
Bloodline, anyone?
Head is full of Sting & Peter Gabriel songs. Amazing night!
Sorry I didn't get to this before the MB closed. Let me tell you, this was such a great show! I love Peter Gabriel and, TBH, he was the one I was going to see. I like Sting but wouldn't have gone just to see him. But, wow, these guys were so good together! They switched off and would sing with each other on one another's songs (Sting even played bass on "Big Time"). They each sang one of the other's songs themselves: Sting did "Shock The Monkey" and Gabriel did "Set Them Free." There was a surprise guest who sang one song with Sting -- "Driven To Tears" -- and one with Gabriel -- "Red Rain." This being Seattle.... it was Eddie Vedder.
The staging was terrific, the song choices were perfect. Everyone was on that night. It was, as described by Neil Peart, a magic show. The musicians and audience were connecting, everything was clicking... what one hopes for with every concert but experiences only occasionally.
Here are a few pictures. I wasn't as close as I have been at Rush shows in the past few years, but this 20x optical zoom works pretty well from center, first level.
