Apparently, I'm going to try and watch the eclipse. My company surprised us with "survival bags" on our desks this morning, containing NASA certified eclipse viewing glasses, a CapriSUN, a MOON pie and some Eclipse gum!
Kinda foggy at the moment, but it's supposed to clear up well before peak viewing time. Anyone else? Anyone in the path of "Totality!"
so the show i went to was pretty good. there was a woman named christina holmes opening before the main guy tyler hilton came on. apparently, tyler hilton is an actor, who played on One Tree Hill. who knew (probably everyone who made plans to go to that show but me)? they were both hilarious on top of being pretty talented, musically speaking. had a pretty good time. my friend who invited me loves One Tree Hill, and another actor from the show also attended the performance. she also had another friend there, someone i hadn't met, who apparently works with celebrities in some capacity (i never caught a job title, some form of assistant to the stars i guess, or liaison or something).
i'd joked around with my friend because she has a ton of photos with celebrities, and i've never actually met any, and i didn't know about the other friend which is how she was getting all of them. so she brings up to her friend that i've never met a celebrity, and they were insistent that tonight i would. seeing as i'd never seen One Tree Hill. i said to them "does it really count if you don't actually know who they are?" they said of course it does, meanwhile i'm thinking to myself, maybe if i just sort of stand in the background and don't say much they'll forget about this and i won't end up in an awkward encounter. nope. first i met the visiting actor while everyone was waiting for the singers to get ready for their meet and greet afterwards, with the requisite, "he's never met a celebrity" thrown in. nothing much, just a how are you and then they (my friends, old and new) proceeded to joke around and talk with him, especially with the one who works with celebrities knowing the whole cast.
finally my friend approaches tyler hilton to get her autographed whatever, i'm hanging back, but new friend insists "what are you doing, go on, get up there and meet him" so i get propelled forward, intros are made, my status as a neophyte in the celebrity greeting department is put forth, pleasantries are exchanged, and i can't really think of what to say, somehow "the only thing i've ever seen from One Tree Hill was that one time when Chad Michael Murray's character got his clothes stolen and had to walk around naked with basketballs covering him" didn't seem appropriate, so i go with "i have no idea who you are, but i enjoyed the show tonight, it was great. sorry, i haven't seen One Tree Hill", thinking to myself, was that awkward, it *seemed* awkward, but he didn't give me any weird looks, but maybe he just didn't break character because he's a good actor, i've never seen his show, how would i know?
all in all, good times were had, i've officially met a celebrity (still unsure if i should consider that particular box checked until i meet one i actually recognize, but sure?), and i got to hear some pretty decent music.
I went into the pool 2 times. It was a real feel of 105 today, and the pool was reading 90 degrees. Ot felt really good.
So what did you guys do?
I have gone to a few comic cons, and I have mett some, but keep in mind comic cons do not really count as they are paid to be nice, and to mett people, but the one who stood out the mist was Alice copper he was really Awsome, and normal. I did mett author Douglas coupland and that was awsome, and that was not at comic con
I'm going to relax, eat lasagna, and reread Stephen King's IT for the umpteenth time. I'm actually really tired because I've only been getting about two hours of sleep at night, and I have to sleep with the light on because my dog flips out when I turn the lights out.

i'm planning on my latest re-read of that soon, to go with the movie release. i've technically lost track of how many times, but almost every year at some point.
technically he was being paid to be nice as well, but he seemed pretty cool overall. the other guy i didn't really talk to but he didn't seem stuck up or anything.
Finally got to the dentist. He ground off a bit of the filling he did a couple weeks ago as my bite was off a little.
Took some X-rays. No roots exposed. But it showed I have a sinus infection. The swelling is probably putting pressure on a nerve, hence the tooth pain. It's happened to me before So, now I'm pooping some Advil Sinus....
...I was hoping so dog, or you really overmedicated yourself.....That should read popping Advil Sinus
