Had a check-in with the nutritionist today. Your friendly neighborhood SwiftDog is down another 11 pounds! Down 30 pounds total since August and 13 to go to hit my goal weight. Surprised I survived the holidays without finding some of those lost pounds.

Now she is telling me to increase my exercise level to aid in losing the last baker’s dozen. Might have to look into getting a personal trainer. I’ve never been one for organized exercise but we’ll see how it goes.
Congratulations!

Congratulations! That's a great accomplishment! If you were near Seattle, I'd give you our spare eliptical (we bought a pair a few years ago but have never once used them at the same time).

I'm also on a weight loss journey but I've been doing it very quietly so as not to be bombarded with unsolicited advice (especially from my keto-crazed friends). I just want to be thin enough to fly comfortably and have enough strength and energy for hiking to penguins on our Antarctica trip next year but I don't want to go nuts and risk a bulemia relapse. I'm not doing weigh ins for that reason. If I feel stronger and my clothes fit better or get too loose, that will be enough for me. Every time I think about being too lazy (I am still recovering so I am taking it slow for now) or eating something terrible (and delicious), I force myself to choose between penguins and the other thing. So far, penguins have won every time. Let's hope they hold their appeal all year. :)

Thanks and good luck on your goal as well.

Take is slow while in recovery. Give the body what it needs. Slow and steady always wins the race.

With the frigid weather the number of people wanting to put propane heaters in their homes and garages is unbelievable. I tell them they can’t do it as it’s putting a bomb in their homes. I tell them if they want to heat with propane to get a 10 foot extension hose, put the propane tank outside and run the line into the heater located indoors. I watch them as I walk away and they get the heaters anyway, without the $31.98 hose. I just shake my head in disbelief. .

Late Sunday night the old farmhouse up the road from me exploded. Nothing left but a hole in the ground and debris. Several fire companies had to be called because they needed water tankers. The son of the family that owns the small family market up the road bought the old farmhouse and was renovating it. He and one of his young sons lost their lives. They were the only ones in the house per reports. Authorities had to bring in a cadaver dog. I heard the explosion but didn’t think much of it. Don’t know what caused such a massive explosion yet, as we don’t have gas lines in the area. So very, very sad.

Today, I am procrastinating. I’m at the cut and paste stage of a stocking. Been trying for 3 days to get going.

Well. I cut. I pinned. And the first part I need to hand sew. Working on that and suddenly...thumb splits and bleeds on the material. :too_sad: Cleaned it, which is not easy when you cannot just soak it or put it under running water. Now it’s drying.

So, since my machine and everything is here, I decided to make a dust cover for the crokinole board I gave my husband for Christmas. It doesn’t need to protect it for transporting, just keep dust off. So, I took an old sheet and I’m basically making a giant pillow case.

Why did my original post say cut and paste.

Good for you - take it slow and easy - 30 pounds since August is quite a lot. Give your body time to adjust.

It's not easy, is it? Andy somehow managed to lose my little piece of cardboard with my user name/password from Weight Watchers. I can still use the app, but I guess I will just keep track from home now (saves me the money anyway of having to pay for meetings) plus I never did go on-line to share with others (prefer to just keep track on my own).
