Don't think I've ever had fresh ground beans. I must have.

Do you buy them or have to buy beans and grind em with a grinder? That would smell nice. You would have to store that in the freezer.

This is all so new and sounds so strangely addicting, in a good way.

Now I want.
I don't have a grinder, but my grocery store sells whole beans that you can grind there. Not sure what happens when the person in front of the French Roast customer has Hazelnut Mocha flavor though.;;D

My mom has a grinder and fresh ground really is good!

The only thing missing is the whipped cream and the cherry on top!

Speaking of Irish coffee - I really want some right now - does that mean I should give in to my desire or just suck it up and drink regular?

I am going to buy a grinder. It would be something to look forward to getting up for work, I would think.

Coffee coffee coffee, yep yep yep, sure, I'm a bean-grinding Columbian brewing coffeeophile, drink it every day, noon, afternoon, night, middle of the night, holidays, any day, gotta have it and if there ain't none in a mornin when I wake up YOU BETTER RUN! I'm drinking coffee right now, as a matter of fact, just a touch of sugar and cream cause that's how I take it, unlike those cats what gotta take theirs straight black, ugh, no, may as well drink beef broth if that's what you like, bleech, and another thing, there's nothing like fresh ground caffeine straight from the bean to amplify one's natural brain kick writing, no sir, it really gets those synapses cracking and snapping, I first met Dean Moriarty not long after my father died and we went on the road looking for girls, kicks, everything, cause the only people for me are the coffee ones--coffee to burn, burn, burn, like fabulous Roman cappuccino machines that gurgle and froth, froth, froth---

And yet, The Rat still keeps his punctuation (minus paragraph breaks) while coffee blitzed. Good Deal.

I see what you did there.

For four years, I was a smoker. And for those for years, if I woke up in the morning and there was no coffee, it wasn't going to be a good day. For anybody.

Now though, I have reverted to my pre-smoker self. Coffee is good, great in fact; when it crosses my mind to drink any. I grew up in a house where the coffee was always strong enough to put hair on your chest, so when I do drink coffee I want it strong. Over the years, I have developed the habit of putting creamer in my coffee. It doesn't taste right to me any other way. And when I get the chance, I like to add a good amount of hot cocoa powder. It's really quite yummy.

Mostly though I just drink water.

I get an iced Dunkin' every morning at break time, but it's really only so I have something to look forward to and break up my morning. I don't think it does much for me in terms of energy, though. I can fall asleep any time, anywhere, coffee or no coffee.

Plus, my coffee of choice is more like coffee-flavored chocolate milk, because I like it with cream and mocha swirl. So healthy! :cupcake:

I didn't realize I needed coffee until:

1. I became a mother
2. I became a journalist/editor

Keeps me awake while writing/editing and sane for the kids!
Besides it's not healthy to drink too much coffee, you know. Try to take a contrast shower or come outside for a while when feel sleepiness.

I never ever ever drink coffee, always tea.

This is not strictly true - when I have been mowing the grass at the cricket club in the summer from 6.00am until say 11.00am I will sometimes have a white coffee with some sugar in as a "pick me up" maybe 5 or 6 times a year (couldn;t drink tea with sugar yuk.)

Anyway I have been in my current job 8 year and can say hand on heart I have never drunk a cup of coffee at my desk. However I have had such a bad cold/chest thing this week that tea has just tasted horrible so I have been drinking coffee as an alternative. Back on tea as soon as my taste buds return to normal.
