What is a blessing book?

Does anybody know what a blessing book is? My ex husband's girlfriend wants to make one for my daughter's 13th birthday, and is saving the first page for me to write. She also is asking my friends and family to write something as well.
While I think it's a nice gesture, I've never heard of such a thing......anybody have some insight to share?

Never heard of that myself. Sounds like it may be full of like personal notes perhaps.

I like this. People need to hear positive inspirational things. Especially young people. Encouragement and a sense of true value of one's self is so important, especially nowadays.

It sounds like a great book to turn to during those angsty teen years when we aren't so self-assured.

I think you're right, DJ.....it is a very nice gesture, especially since my daughter is at that age where she isn't quite an adult, and isn't quite a kid. It's a difficult time, for sure.

I know that it will probably be most appreciated. 13 is a difficult age, you are not kid nor a teen. I guess that is where the saying tween comes into play.

The book looks really nice. When I was reading what everyone else had written, it struck me that all these people really love my daughter.
It made me feel good reading it, and I can imagine the positive influence it will have on her.

At that age I'm sure I was a miserable sod, so there would have been more than just blessings included if I'd had one.

I really like it. It's a great idea for anyone.....Cara's (that's my daughter), is full of personal memories, words of advice and encouragement, etc. I think it will be a wonderful keepsake, and also something uplifting for low times.
