I think the stuff in Rose Madder with the cop were gruesome, so that's probably the scariest for me. Also, don't forget that some of the scenes with Flagg in The Stand were extremely disquieting.

I do have to agree that Cujo is pretty scary if you really think about it -- seeing a dog like that in an isolated location is terrifying. (That's why I never understand some of the places people go jogging by themselves.)

Pet Sematary, Revival, FDNS, Cujo, IT, The Shining, Bag of Bones, Desperation, 'Salem's Lot, select scenes from UTD & Doctor Sleep, "The Road Virus Heads North", "N.", "The Ledge", "The Monkey", "The Mist", "The Ballad of The Flexible Bullet", The Dark Half, Misery, Rose Madder, Christine etc.....

I don't scare easily unless I'm reading SK.

I am not sure, but I believe the one that scared me the most was The Stand because what is so fearful there for me is what I call the " it could happen in real life " element. Plagues have come before and will come again. Consequences. I think a lot of the works by SK that scare me are the works that aren't so much supernatural but about the horrors that really could be.

The juxtaposition of the good v. evil character archetypes just made it all the more exciting. But even without the supernatural edge, just the creepiness of the " bring out your dead" angle would have done it for me. I loved all the different characters and the apocalyptic bent.

I also remember feeling that way when reading The Rage, The Long Walk and Running Man. The movie 1408 has at times made me really really scared. Sometimes when I get scared in real life and I'm trying to explain to someone I know how certain things that have happened to me just take up a room in my head and I'm always still there, I just say " Have you seen that movie 1408? "

I'm sure other SK works have scared the bejeezy out of me, but I looked at a bunch of them when I unpacked my apartment today and I don't remember what they are about even though I only read some of them a few years ago. That scares me.

I can't read Spidey's spoiler but wow! I have such mixed feelings. I can't wait to finish Revival, yet I don't want to finish it at the same time.
Thread topic: for me, and this will be a little ridiculous because it's essentially a comic book, but Creepshow scared the bejesus out of me. I read it as a pre-teen and had nightmares for weeks. I had to wait until I was an actual teen to read any more SK books.
