I hope you're wrong too.If that smell got cooked into the heating ducts, I don't think it's ever coming out. One of the worst pranks you can do to somebody's car is pour skunk oil down the vents. Once the car starts and the smell cooks in, there's no getting rid of it. Not that I'd know from experience, or anything. *whistles innocently*
I think your landlord is going to have some major overhauling to do.

I immediately shut off the heat, so I don't think it got cooked.
I don't know if I've gotten used to the smell, or all the vinegar, candles and airing out is working, but I don't seem to smell it as much.
I am, however, freezing, with all this November air blowing through my house.
