I hope you managed to remain physically, mentally and emotionally unscathed over the weekend.
Any [so called] man that believes it's acceptable to perpetrate violence against women and children (yes, even adult children) are oxygen thieves, among other more ignoble traits.

As everyone stated, your safety is paramount, everything else is secondary. Treat it like a house on fire, your possessions are not as important as you are.

I know that AVO's (Apprehended Violence Order; you may have a different name for them in America) are usually harrumphed as being a worthless piece of paper but it's a 'next level' type of protection nonetheless.
It's in the system and on permanent record (even as just a prior), with any proven violation requiring arrest and criminal charges.
Please consider this as an option. Let the local police station(s) be aware of a very real, and potentially dangerous, circumstance.

That's mildly promising, although the hatred will only harm yourself; besides, from personal experience, constant antagonism can become extremely wearisome.
Perhaps try indifference; just as harsh, but not as injurious to self or as physically, mentally and emotionally toxic to you as hatred.

As a thought, consider that hate is parasitically contingent on love.
