Since we seem to have a Zeppelin theme today.........

Picked up the just released 20th anniversary (been that long already?) edition of Superunknown. The high def version of the album really sounds great.
The lyrics in this are great, I've never heard it before now. Very nice...Great version of a song written by Warren Zevon, sung by Don Henley.
Love the chorus.."Love conquers all, you don't start it like a car, you can't stop it with a gun"
Glad you enjoyed it, and I thought I'd share this strange Ka-incidence.The lyrics in this are great, I've never heard it before now. Very nice...

I've liked Warren Zevon for a long time, but I only posted "Searching For A Heart" on this thread after my I-pod on shuffle, played it today and reminded me how good Don Henley's cover is.
I had also just posted on the "What Are You Reading" thread, that I was about to venture into Dr Sleep for the first time. So I open the book and on the dedication page is;
When I was playing my primitive brand of rhythm guitar with a group called the Rock Bottom Remainders, Warren Zevon used to gig with us. Warren loved gray t-shirts and movies like Kingdom of the Spiders.
He insisted I sing lead on his signature tune, 'Werewolves of London', during the encore portion of our shows. I said I was not worthy. He insisted that I was. 'Key of G', Warren told me, 'and howl like you mean it. Most important of all, play like Keith.'
I'll never be able to play like Keith Richards, but I always did my best, and with Warren beside me, matching me note for note and laughing his fool head off, I always had a blast.
Warren, this howl is for you, wherever you are. I miss you, buddy.
Before last night I never knew that SK even liked Warren Zevon, let alone had him as a friend and band mate, and dedicated Dr Sleep to him!
Seems Ka really is a wheel!
I discovered Warren Zevon in the late 70s with the Excitable Boy album, instantly fell in love, shared him with my friends. I haven't followed him closely since, which is a habit, perhaps bad, I have with an artist part of whom's work I love. I think I believe nothing will ever be as good again, or maybe the same. I mean, how could anything ever be greater than "Lawyers, Guns, and Money"?Glad you enjoyed it, and I thought I'd share this strange Ka-incidence.

The book is an autobiography told in an interview style (I'm not sure if there is another term for that)
Don't worry, I get mixed up with that too. How about MI5 and MI6. I have read hundreds of books about these and to this day, i still get mixed up.I mean biography. Geez! - why do I do that so often?
What's the title of the biography you're talking about and of whom is it?I mean biography. Geez! - why do I do that so often?

Ok. That sounds like a book I should get.I was talking about "I'll Sleep When I'm Dead" about Warren Zevon.
