My mom told them they had one day and then she was out of there when they admitted her to the hospital. I was there when the doctor was doing the rounds in the morning and when she told him she wouldn't stay any longer, I'm not sure he believed her at first. They made her walk the length of the hallway without oxygen or otherwise she would have had to make arrangements for an oxygen tank at home. Luckily (for all of us  ) she passed the test.
Might have been a good choice on your mom's part- less germs at home and a better environment to heal. Continued healing vibes being sent her way.

She felt she could rest and get better faster at home, too. And then proceeded to do all the cooking for Thanksgiving, refusing any help from anyone else after getting out of the hospital mid-day on Monday. Did I mention she's stubborn? ;-D We won't bring up her control issues--that's a whole other story.

And she isn't going to change anytime soon! Been there!

The woods are lovely dark and deep
My mom had it and ended up in the hospital with pneumonia around Thanksgiving. She's doing better now but has to go back for follow-up x-rays to make sure it's clearing up as it should.
Sorry I'm just hearing this, I truly hope Mom is so much better now. We have to be our own advocates in this crazy world. ((((MsMod and Mom)))).

Hey where the heck has that girl CJ been? ;) Oh wait, hey that's ME!

Happy New Year, all. How y'all been? I didn't win that big Powerball. Wicked bummed. Wanted to buy an island and Host a SKMB convention! How cool would that be, eh?

Seems every day we get a report we lost another talented artist, musician or actor. :( Not good, it's getting me depressed! This getting old business sucks. Who's in charge of the 2016 obits, George R R Martin?!

So... I'm just freezing over here in New England. Playing Mahjong games online and waiting for Joe's "The Fireman" to come out and warm me up! Too bad it comes out in what, May? :sigh: Also waiting on Game of Thrones to commence again as well as Better Call Saul and Walking Dead.

What else? Oh yeah! I finished Baazar awhile back, good stuff in there Steve, say thankya! Bad Little Kid was creepy! Too bad it wasn't novel length. I had read most of the stories previously when they were published in mags and such.

Anyhoo, so next weekend we have The Patriots/Denver AFC Championship to look forward to. GO PATS!!!!

ps. Don't bother going to see The Forest. It was pretty lame. Til next time...... long days and pleasant nights, sai's :)

Take care of yourself. Stop beating yourself up for things. Try to do one thing on your 'to-do' list, that's all, just the one. You'll feel better and at least something was done, right?

Yep. And I do tell myself that in the dark periods, along with other things that're intended to remove or relieve the pressure I tend to put on myself - basically giving myself permission to be relaxed about not reaching a particular target, or even doing nothing towards it at all. Just pleasing myself and fighting the But I must! if you like.
Once things started clearing a bit I was able to get back into things a bit. The habit and small sense of satisfaction settled me even more, so I then literally worked my way back to feeling right again - though I also adjusted my targets and self-expectations so as not to end up feeling quite so pressured again.

Been very sick. Went to the doctor Monday after no sleep in 3 days due to non-stop coughing. I have the flu, a viral Infection & a bacterial Infection. Lots of drugs prescribed. Been reading the SKMB at times, but was not up to posting. Finally felt good enough to go into work today (against the President’s orders to stay away), because everything fell apart the two days I was out. But they quarantined me. I have to keep my office door closed and announce when I leave so everyone can go running and grab wipes for everything I touch.

We finally had the wake on Saturday, at our place, that my wife’s uncle demanded we have for him when he passed away, although he never thought it would happen so young (54 years old and passed last April). Everyone wore a flannel shirt over a T-shirt and wore moccasins, which was his standard garb. They celebrated his life, told lots of stories, plenty of laughing and crying, lots to eat and drink (too much as it turned out), and a lot of karaoke singing. I helped set up and then spent the rest of the day in the bedroom so as not to infect anyone. The wake went on for 10 hours.

Someone broke the toilet seat during the party and it was a big mystery as to who did it, because everyone denied it. The wife asked that I go out Sunday, if I felt up to it, and get a replacement seat and install it... And to check the tank because it was wobbling. Replaced the seat and then tried to tighten the tank bolt. The bolt broke at the head and water was pouring out of the tank onto the floor. Turned the water off, flushed to drain the remaining water in the tank, and had to clean up all the water on the floor. Then run to Lowes to get a replacement tank to bowl bolt kit. Removed the tank and reattached it with the new kit. Of course I was sick as a dog, felt like passing out, and an emergency happens... If I didn’t have bad luck I wouldn’t have any luck, at all. :(

PS... They’re still the same old Jets. Well, there is always next year, or the year after that, or the year after that... :)
So sorry to hear you were under the weather - healing vibes DiO'Bolic :flat::cheerful:

So...hi again, folks. Sorry I've been todash for so long. It was a combination of busy and having to outrun the black dog again, and those two things aren't very good playmates (need to get stuff done, but feel there's no point and can't raise a walk, let alone a gallop...then feel worse than before because nothing's getting done as it needs to, and round and round we go. And on top of all that, just when the skies look to be clearing, something else would come along to set the storm off again).
It was all making me pretty snippy to boot, so it's best to hush up at times like that - even if you would much rather set the world to rights. ;)
Welcome back to the fold Mr Nobody :encouragement:
