You're doing fine, as far as I'm concerned. I'm just another player who likes movies; I can't make rules any more so than anyone else. I apologize if I seemed bossy the other day, it's just that usually we don't post very many images at a time before the ones being played have been correctly guessed.

It's much more of a challenge with players who are familiar with genres and and actors and time periods and other factors than I am, but it's fun that I'm learning about movies that I've so far been unfamiliar with. I try to get hints that give me a pathway to solving the puzzle when it involves a movie that I have no idea about. Also, I try to avoid playing obvious clues, too, and hope to choose movies that others feel they have a chance to guess, but intentionally start off with a clue about a movie perhaps a little tougher than the next clue for that movie, 'til the clues are as obvious as possible. I almost never have to post more than three clues per movie because I think people tire of guessing, so after the first clue or two I try to make the guessing relatively easy. This is just how I choose to play.

Also, I like to sometimes, if I know a certain member is online who likes a certain actor/actress, choose a movie featuring that actor/actress. Sometimes I try to be clever and in the movie quote game post a quote from the same movie I'm using in the movie image game, in order to stimulate players' memories. I also try to choose movies which I hope to turn people on to, especially somewhat obscure but great ones.

I've not seen The Stand the whole way through, so for me neither guess would've been obvious, but might've been for many players.

I've meant to tell you, Checkman, that I'm glad you're playing because this is my single favorite SKMB game and the more the merrier, especially of people who love movies, who kind of collect some of them in their head like you and other members who play here apparently do.

Because technically it's not a movie. I now realize I've made a mistake in my previous post though. "Clip" was meant to be a hint as wel, from "videoclip" (hence the quotes around "clip" in my previous post), but that's the Dutch name for "music video". I walked straight into a false friend trap there

Anyway, so it's a music video rather than a movie, but one that SK-fans might be familiar with.

I hope you can appreciate it :)

No it's not. Although in my opinion (and other people's opinions, I googled that) it bears a resemblance to the world as described in the Dark Tower series (wild west combined with modern technology), there is no direct reference.

Should I provide another hint or hold off to see if anyone else can guess it? Or maybe you yourself can guess it now.

I can't guess it, especially without an actor's name or maybe even with one. My way of playing the game has always been to assume no one is soon going to enter the game who isn't already trying to guess, so I provide hints for them 'til the thing is finally solved; so, yes I'd appreciate more hints now.

And my personal feeling is that we should limit this particular game to scenes from movies, which are hard enough to investigate and solve as it is. A member could start a What Music Video is this Scene From? thread, though.

Maybe you're right. Those I also find hard by the way ;) Even though I've seen some movies pass through that I have seen, I didn't recognize the screen caps. Apparently it all leaks out of my memory again after I watch a movie.

As for music, not everyone enjoys the same kind of music of course.

The actor doing the shooting in the gif-image I've shown is Richard Brake. With that information it should be solvable.

So this is a video clip from a movie, not a music video? If it's a videoclip from a movie then I don't see why we can't use it in this game.

Is it from Good Day for It ?

No it is a music video. Sometimes for music videos actors are hired, although in this case the band members also appear as a hologram.

I'm behind on the music scene and figure I won't be the one to guess this video. (Let's keep the video clips from movies, though, from now on.)
