You're doing fine, as far as I'm concerned. I'm just another player who likes movies; I can't make rules any more so than anyone else. I apologize if I seemed bossy the other day, it's just that usually we don't post very many images at a time before the ones being played have been correctly guessed.

It's much more of a challenge with players who are familiar with genres and and actors and time periods and other factors than I am, but it's fun that I'm learning about movies that I've so far been unfamiliar with. I try to get hints that give me a pathway to solving the puzzle when it involves a movie that I have no idea about. Also, I try to avoid playing obvious clues, too, and hope to choose movies that others feel they have a chance to guess, but intentionally start off with a clue about a movie perhaps a little tougher than the next clue for that movie, 'til the clues are as obvious as possible. I almost never have to post more than three clues per movie because I think people tire of guessing, so after the first clue or two I try to make the guessing relatively easy. This is just how I choose to play.

Also, I like to sometimes, if I know a certain member is online who likes a certain actor/actress, choose a movie featuring that actor/actress. Sometimes I try to be clever and in the movie quote game post a quote from the same movie I'm using in the movie image game, in order to stimulate players' memories. I also try to choose movies which I hope to turn people on to, especially somewhat obscure but great ones.

I've not seen The Stand the whole way through, so for me neither guess would've been obvious, but might've been for many players.

I've meant to tell you, Checkman, that I'm glad you're playing because this is my single favorite SKMB game and the more the merrier, especially of people who love movies, who kind of collect some of them in their head like you and other members who play here apparently do.

I'm actually a moderator (where I go by Jcordell) on site called the Internet Movie Firearms Database (Internet Movie Firearms Database - Guns in Movies, TV and Video Games) which is an online database of firearms used or featured in movies, television shows, video games, and anime. A wiki running the MediaWiki software, it is similar in function to the (unaffiliated) Internet Movie Database for the entertainment industry. It includes articles relating to actors, and even some famous characters, such as James Bond, listing the particular firearms they have been associated with in their movies. Integrated into the website is an image hosting section similar to Wikimedia Commons that includes firearm photos, manufacturer logos, screenshots and related art. That came from Wikipedia by the way.

Anyway that's why all the screencaps show the actors using firearms. They came from imfdb. I've built more than a few pages myself - to include The Stand (Stand, The - Internet Movie Firearms Database - Guns in Movies, TV and Video Games). That took awhile. Stephen King is actually a category now on imfdb. There are that many movies and television shows based on his works now. I just like movies. This is fun.
