Lots of acorns on the trees and that is a sign that winter will be tough.
tpbm wonders what acorns have to do with the price of gold in Acapulco.

Ah yes - Acapulco Gold - now why does that name ring a bell?

TPBM can hear the wind whistling through the (cracked) window and is thinking of cozy fireplaces.

you get to lean on the sill and listen to the waves of peeling paint wash up against your elbows.
tpbm can hear someone in the house.

We have a number of variations on it. The wife went out for a walk over at the village park so when she comes back...she's the one who makes it...I'll ask. Either that or be hiding in the closet taking notes next time she does as she wings it more or less. I ask her what all is in it and she says this and that. Never have seen this and that in the food mart. I've looked. Asked. Ah, yeah, miss? Can you tell me where the this and that is?
