That was Julie Lawry. And her pepto-bismol meanness. Not to say gun shooting meanness. Laws no!
She spotted Tom later on in the novel while changing a light bulb
Thanks! I had read your previous post where you mentioned Julie but the name didn't ring any bells
The Stand has some interesting minor characters. I also liked Hap. The only minor character I can think of that I love in another novel is Mr Jingles. He can be condered a character, right?
....not near my bookcase at the moment, but I'm vaguely remembering a vintage, but very well maintained Caddy......Richard "Dick" Holloran! I would love for King to do a stand alone novel and/or collection about this guy. He is always seems to be in the vicinity of trouble....supernatural terror. He was mentioned in IT, he is a primary character in the Shining and he appears in the Doctor Sleep.
It's been awhile since I've read The Shining, but I believe Dick drove a Plymouth Fury.....the same type of car as Christine!!!!

I found this photo:
Stephenking.wikia.com says he drove a Plymouth Fury??
In the novel he drives a 1950 Cadillac which he calls Bessie and keeps in Florida. He drives a beige Plymouth Fury (a rental car) when he leaves The Overlook for the airport.I found this photo:

....Ladies & Gentlemen, please make a note that on this day and at this hour-the GNT was proven to be right....In the novel he drives a 1950 Cadillac which he calls Bessie and keeps in Florida. He drives a beige Plymouth Fury (a rental car) when he leaves The Overlook for the airport.

Ah! - there you go - it was mentioned somewhere about the Fury (thanks for that info!)In the novel he drives a 1950 Cadillac which he calls Bessie and keeps in Florida. He drives a beige Plymouth Fury (a rental car) when he leaves The Overlook for the airport.
I have always wanted to know more of Mr. Keene, the pharmacist from IT who has the heart to heart with Eddie explaining that his medicine is just tapwater. That scene when Eddie asks (i don't swear for exact words here) "Do you meani'm mentally ill" Keene answers "I don't know, are you?" or something like it. He appears in a few other scenes as well and i have always felt that behind Mr. Keene there lurks a good story waiting to be told.
