Somewhere over the Rainbow
Just a crazy note, I went to Half Price Books yesterday and saw a "Lisey's Story" it was a signed version, but the first pages of the book binding were upside down. In fact, it also looked out of order. Really strange. They wanted $75 for it. I was talking to the worker there and he said they might have to lower the price. Has anyone heard anything about a bad printing batch from that book? That might be a quite a story about SK signing a book like that? Of course, I always wonder how can they guarantee that's the real signature.

Not technically a "purchase" (a friend gave this to me), but still SK-related (and pretty cool). It's the Desperation/Regulators "keep-you-up-all-night" light (special promo that came bundled with certain Desperation/Regulators upon release)...

I sure wish I would have kept some of those comics now. My aunt used to take me to this trade store which was 2 for l and if you bought them they were
5cents each in very good condition or 3 for 10cents if less than very good condition. I have only 2; one is the Life of John F. Kennedy and the other is the
Life of Winston Churchill. Each have real portraits on the front and the price was 12cents. Haven't thought of them for a long time; should get rid of them
I know that none of my daughters would want them.

I had the first 300 Spiderman comics, but when I was a young adult I let my brother add them with his collection...which he kept in the garage where he smoked like a chimney. Utterly worthless now because of the stench, except as good things to read. So, not worthless; just no monetary value :p

Got my signed trade edition of Finders Keepers today. This gives me 99 King signatures.

That's all?? ;;D
Really, that is awesome John! I'm looking forward to hearing what makes it an even 100. By the way, do you have children? Would you like to adopt one that you wouldn't actually have to take care of?

I have two--a girl and a boy. I also now have grandkids. Don't forget, I'm old. ;;D

I walked over to Chinese joint a couple of minutes ago, and went next door to the Children’s Thrift Shop while I waited for my order. I picked up a 1984 hardcover printing of Thinner by Richard Bachman, in pretty good shape. I’m curious... Why New Hampshire? Who is the “author’s” picture of in the back of the dust jacket? And who came up with the wife and photographer’s name... Claudia Inez Bachman?

The photo was a friend of Stephen's agent at the time, Kirby McCauley. I don't know the story behind the NH location or Claudia Inez--would have to ask unless someone else might know the answer.
