Today I came home with a nice hardback 1st of To The Stars- The Autobiography Of George Takei that is inscribed and dated! Got it for a friend who is a huge Trekkie! She'll love it!
That is a superfine find!!I played hooky on Monday and ran some errands. One of which brought me by the new 2nd & Charles store in my area. Found a nice copy of Thinner by Richard Bachman Book Club edition. Dust jacket is worn, but the book is in pretty good shape. They had it in their clearance bin and I'm wondering if whoever was sorting it didn't realize what they were sorting???

Bravo!Brand new, never been opened copy of Go Set A Watchman (Lee) for $1. I've been conflicted about reading it, but I couldn't pass it up.
Would you post a photo of this cover if you have time? I can't find it online. Thank you. Is The Stand pbk the one with the guy with the gold tooth smoking a cigarette?Today the mailman delivered a very nice copy of 'Salem's Lot from Anchor Bay publishers. It's the larger paperback with a black cover and a picture of a house with flames coming out of the windows. I have a matching one of The Stand by this publisher. I really like the looks of these versions!

Man, what a cool set. That was fast! Thanks, Dan. I hope you can find the others (providing they have been publushed by AB).View attachment 19912 View attachment 19913
Here ya go. Now I just have to find The Shining, Carrie and Night Shift for the matching set.

Isn't it amazing that people have autographed books but don't care about them at all? I find lots of signed books in deplorable condition at thrift stores. I don't get it either....Russell Banks - The Sweet Hereafter
I found this at my favorite used book place and after I got it, I noticed it was signed. It is in good condition, not great. It look like someone had it signed and then just treated it like any other book they had. If I went to all of the trouble to have Russell Banks sign my book, I would buy a second copy to read or be very gentle with the signed one.
Good find! For my birthday, I found a rare novel by Max Erlich called The Reincarnation of Peter Proud. Director J. Lee Thompson adapted it into a film back in the seventies.
...apparently Koontz wrote up some pretty risqué stuff as well years ago, under a myriad of aliases.....and nary a bodice ripping retriever to be found!.....Today I stopped at a local used book store and found these. 'Felicia Andrews' is a non-de-plume that Charles L. Grant used. I still have to find the first book in this series. Just glancing through the novels, they are filled with some rather graphic sex scenes. I'm surprised as Charlie was a rather quiet, demure type of guy. Who would have thought he had such ideas inside his head.....

There's about 6 names that Koontz used to write those titles. He is very hesitant to claim authorship to them as they were heavily edited/rewritten by the publisher and therefore Dean doesn't feel that they are 'his' books....apparently Koontz wrote up some pretty risqué stuff as well years ago, under a myriad of aliases.....and nary a bodice ripping retriever to be found!.....
