A message from Stephen...
Posted: December 13th, 2007 12:59:24 pmI had a great year and, as always, it starts with the people who read the books and have been so kind to me over the last 30 or so years that I have been making up stories. It was especially nice to hear from you this year because I turned 60 and finally had to kill my teddy bear. Just joking about the teddy bear, but it's a little traumatic and you guys helped to ease the pain. I hope you will all have a happy holiday season whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukah, Kwanza, or simply the imminent coming of Great Cthulhu. I hope that all of us will have a happy new year, that you will enjoy Duma Key, and that you vote for all the right candidates in November! Be well and be good to one another.

A message from Stephen
Posted: September 24th, 2007 12:52:47 pmTo Everyone,
Although I am trying to make the best of it, turning 60 is a bit of a bummer. Nevertheless, so many people who visit the web site have cheered me up with their greetings and good wishes. Not to mention all the people who contributed checks to The Haven Foundation to mark my passage into the golden city of Geezerdom! Thank you all! And now, please, can't we just forget the whole thing? From now on, I am going backwards. Next year I will be 59 and by 2017, I will be 50 again.
Love and best wishes to all you Constant Readers out there,
Steve King

A message from Stephen regarding 1408
Posted: June 19th, 2007 12:41:30 pmIt's a pleasure to be able to recommend 1408, the Dimension Pictures adaptation of my story. It stars John Cusack and opens this Friday. This is a genuinely disquieting movie--the damn thing gets under your skin and just CRAWLS there. For one thing, what could be more terrifying than a man haunted by The Carpenters' "We've Only Just Begun?" I doubt if you'll hear much screaming in the theater (I could be wrong about that), but a lot of people are going to be sleeping with the lights on when it's over.

Posted: May 23rd, 2007 12:34:23 pmIn the emotional aftermath of her baby’s sudden death, Em starts running. Soon she runs from her husband, to the airport, down to the Florida Gulf and out to the loneliest stretch of Vermillion Key, where her father has offered the use of a conch shack he has kept there for years. Em keeps up her running—barefoot on the beach, sneakers on the road—and sees virtually no one. This is doing her all kinds of good, until one day she makes the mistake of looking into the driveway of a man named Pickering. Pickering also enjoys the privacy of Vermillion Key, but the young women he brings there suffer the consequences….

The Gunslinger Born #4 in stores May 2nd
Posted: May 1st, 2007 12:32:52 pmThe smash hit limited series exploring the early days of Stephen King's notorious gunslinger Roland (from the Dark Tower series of novels) continues this month, as Dark Tower: The Gunslinger Born #4 arrives in stores this Wednesday, May 2nd. Young Roland has met Susan Delgado and like many good times in his life, danger looms large...and dangerously close. The town of Hambry holds many secrets, but for Roland, the most intriguing new discovery is that of the equally enamored Susan. But will forces greater than both conspire to tear apart this blossoming young love?
The critics continue to laud praise upon this bold story, as ComicsShouldBeGood's Brian Cronin raved, "The control that David has over the dialogue in this work is expertly done. With the beautiful artwork of Jae Lee, it is almost like watching a stage play being performed for me, with the dialogue and the artwork mixing together wonderfully."
With each issue selling out at Diamond, and continued interest from the mainstream media, Dark Tower: The Gunslinger Born is one of the most talked about series in years! For more information and art, please visit www.marvel.com/darktower
