Sure...Slightly OT: there's a band called Jakob from New Zealand. Could you please go to wherever they are and get them to release the follow-up to Solace? I've been waiting for it forever!

Thanks! I thought that too about the guitar in several tracks... I think partly it's their age/experience, most of them were 18-19 when they put those tracks down. Also, it sometimes felt like (for the Metal tracks) that if it's Metal.. that the music should be LOUD... well yes, but not to the point that you can't hear vocals.Flake, great post. Your son is not only the front man of that group, but he is also the star. The "riff guitarist" needs to learn some restraint (overplaying distracts from the song)...I know because I was guilty of that myself. Once I was able to focus, I liked the song a lot.
Thankya.
Hey HMW. Thanks for playing (and posting). I really liked that first track. I've recently done a "The Crow" movie marathon session, and that vibe would fit in nicely in any of them.
Third one was also great bass. I coulda used some of that on my calypso fusion instrumental.
Some of the best ear candy I have heard in YEARS. Soulful, spirited and haunting; I hope you 'do music' professionally.Post your sonic sundries and ye shall be heard.
Two of mine, maybe three:
I'd like to hear the story. Your fingers are magic on a guitar. I'm learning chords but am years and years away from the excellence you portray.Thankya Vulture.
I had to sell one of these (it was MY six gun) to make rent during law school.
Jem7VWH, my dream guitar for a long time.
Now I only occasionally pluck an acoustic that a police officer gave me (strange story there).
Amazing skill, you! I liked them all, but the second one was really awesome - it's just exactly the kind of music I like to listen to - a bit bluesy. Fabulous!Post your sonic sundries and ye shall be heard.

Those were great - a couple had that T-Bone Burnett feel that I love.Although not currently ”active”, I have played a variety of instruments over the years.

Incredibly talented! I can't imagine you having a son old enough to be in a band, I always picture you with little ones all around.
I'm having trouble figuring out how to make these play, but I'll work on it and give it a listen.
I have both...Incredibly talented! I can't imagine you having a son old enough to be in a band, I always picture you with little ones all around.
Thanks for listeningThose were great, thanks! (The lead vocals in the second one is a wee bit reminiscent of a younger Bowie!)
Thanks for listening. We had a pretty broad range of influences within the band. We all listened to a wide range of music. I'm from a classic rock / alternative & punk school of playing and writing and the other guys brought in the prog & metal influences. Thanks Swiftdog2.0
I dig that Punk meets Prog stuff.
I prefer the second link/album also. Soft spot in my heart for Iron Maideny vocal vibrato.
very nice. Sexy sounding.Although not currently ”active”, I have played a variety of instruments over the years. Started out as a drummer, and played in a punk (we wanted to play metal, but didn't have the skills) band for a while. Then I got myself a keyboard and sort of got recruited by a reggae band. Played that instrument with the band for a while until we decided to fire the drummer, whereupon I took over the duties as drummer once again. Simultaneously I got myself a guitar and played in a hardcore band. I like reggae, but needed an outlet for the more aggressive side.
After playing in bands for several years I got tired of people not showing up for rehearsals, internal silly arguments and whatnot. So I decided I've had enough. Only to be persuaded to become the bass player for yet another band a year later.
Turned out I really learned to love the bass, and I played the hell out of the instrument in two bands, before finally deciding (for real this time) that I apparently wasn't a ”band person”.
With new technology (computers, that is) I realized it might be better if I played everything myself, and tried to sing as well. Which I did for a couple of years. I am no Bob Dylan, so I focused on playing covers of songs I liked, and experimented by trying to put my own personal mark on the songs (and I don't mean the squeak of the chair I'm sitting on, which you can hear in at least one of the songs).
Here are a couple of examples, I play all instruments and, eh, ”sing”:

very nice. I liked them both.I'll offer up a little something:
Coaster Thieves - Push Push by Marc Reichman on SoundCloud - Hear the world’s sounds
Coaster Thieves - New Horizons by Marc Reichman on SoundCloud - Hear the world’s sounds
Links to my old band's two albums on Soundcloud. They were self released affairs. I prefer the stuff on the New Horizons link. That was our second album, Different bass player and singer than the first link. We also had a better producer and access to a much nicer studio for the second one.
I am one of the two guitar players in the band (not the guy who's picture you'll see on the link. That's my buddy. He is the other lead guitar player). I also played all the acoustic guitar parts and did some background vocals.
