Pictures when you're done, girl! (And watch that back... also, don't worry about the MB, I'm free for all of today if you need me to be. Will be free on (your) Mon/floor day too.)I am in the process of java staining my 80s oak kitchen cabinets. Good lord, have mercy on me that i started this job. I have two coats of stain on. Looks horrible but every blog I read tells me not to panic, it's going to look horrible. 2 more coats to go and then 2 coats of a satin finish sealer. Going to take me a long time. My back is killing me. And because of a flooding issue inside my house, I will have to wait to finish it up as my floor will finally get reinstalled Monday!
That is so BEAUTIFUL! Is that wallpaper on the sides of the drawers? I love that so much!THanks! Most of it is just waiting time. Doesn't take that long to get the stuff on, but have to bend in awkward positions to make sure everything is covered.
Also, this is just the bottom cabinets. I haven't started staining the top ones!
I'm also going to do something along these lines on the side of the drawers.
Just a nice pop of color every time you open a drawer.
Yes! I thought it was very clever. As long as your drawer guides are on the bottom of your drawers, this would be easy. And there is a gap between the drawer and the sides, so would never scrape. That is so BEAUTIFUL! Is that wallpaper on the sides of the drawers? I love that so much!
Easy for you, maybe! I love crafts, but am not very good.Yes! I thought it was very clever. As long as your drawer guides are on the bottom of your drawers, this would be easy. And there is a gap between the drawer and the sides, so would never scrape.
Naw, this is easy. measure, cut, wet pre glued wallpaper, lay down on sides --done! And there is so many wallpaper choices out there, just a fun way to give a peek of color without having it in your face every single minute.Easy for you, maybe! I love crafts, but am not very good.
Or you can just paint like this:That is so BEAUTIFUL! Is that wallpaper on the sides of the drawers? I love that so much!
look at this oneThat's so pretty too! I'm going to somehow teach myself how to paint and upcycle furniture-starting in the spring when it's warm enough to work in a shed.
I've heard of it, but haven't seen it. I know I will want to make a bazillion things after I watch it!That's cool-reminded me of a bumblebee! Did you ever watch that show Flea Market Flip, DJ?
The first 2 seasons are available on Netflix. I was totally addicted and had to pace myself! They did change the "rules" for winning as the show progressed, which made it better IMO.I've heard of it, but haven't seen it. I know I will want to make a bazillion things after I watch it!
ooo, netflix. I'm in trouble. The first 2 seasons are available on Netflix. I was totally addicted and had to pace myself! They did change the "rules" for winning as the show progressed, which made it better IMO.

I am in the process of doing this right now. They are turning out gorgeous! But slow going. I don't have a lot of room, and I have pets, so I have to put the doors in a room where they can dry and not be a danger to my pets. Too cold to put the doors in the garage for them to seal properly, so just doing a few at a time.I'm going to try it too then After you try it first and figure out what all can go wrong lol.
OH MAN! Don't throw that away or get rid of it. That is beautiful and a heirloom to hand down. This is (I think) the first project I cross stitched. It was under my tree for years...until I got bored of it. I made myself a new one, and this was put in storage. I just could not throw it away. Well, I've just found it a new home. (What looks like a cut is actually just a shadow, it needs to be ironed.)
