A little over 100 pages into Summer of Night and loving it!!
I also have Carrion Comfort, Song of Kali, The Terror, and A Winter Haunting waiting for me. I'll read a Winter Haunting after I finish SON, then probably read Song of Kali soon after.

I don't remember sorry.Okay, am I crazy or were there, like, six question marks in the title of this thread? And now there's only one.
I'm losing it....
Hey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who stole my question marks????????????????????????Okay, am I crazy or were there, like, six question marks in the title of this thread? And now there's only one.

So I'm not crazy? (At least in this particular situation)Hey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who stole my question marks????????????????????????
I think I warned you that Simmons pulls off a 'Hitchcock' in this book. I felt the same as you, too!A little over halfway through Summer of Night.......
*Annie Wilkes voice* Duane McBride cannot be dead. He was my favorite character in the damn book and Dan Simmons MURDERED HIM!!!
It's a different animal altogether, Kurben. Reading Song Of Kali made me want to never, ever visit Calcutta. He describes the heat, the humidity, the stink, the overcrowding, the horror of daily life all very realistically. It's Simmons first novel and as far as I'm concerned he hit it out of the park (and gave us a glimpse of the great writing that was forthcoming). Some members didn't like it, but I think it's outstanding.Thoughts on Song of Kali? Can it compare with Carrion Comfort, Summer of Night or The Terror? Or A winter haunting for that matter?
I got Drood and Song of Kali for good prices. Drood seems very interesting. Just read the first pages but i'll hold off for a while. It's in my TBR pile, Kurben.Anyone read his Sherlock piece, the followup to Drood?
So watching 'Elementary' won't help?I've read it. I'm not a big Holmes fan, so I didn't care that much for it. You really have to have read the Holmes stories before reading this one. It's been just too long for me to remember much about Doyles' works.
