Under your bed
I read A Garden Of Sand way back when I was around 16 or 17, in the late '70's. It was pretty darn racy!

It's got some nasty sex scenes, do ya, but nothing I would consider titillating. They're more in the vein Hubert Selby Jr or Jerzy Kosinski. G of S is a grimy, dark carnival ride through the Great Depression, and is one of the finest novels ever written. Tattoo is even better.

Yeah, but most of them are first reads for me. Cujo is one I've actually read before, but I was young and don't remember much about it.

And we probably won't be at the same point for long. You're a reading machine!
I'm not reading them back-to-back. I always read two or three books by other authors so I won't get burned out.

I've been reading other authors here and there also. I know I'm getting The Bazaar of Bad Dreams for Christmas, so that will be up next after Cujo. Then it's time to read something from my huge non-SK pile, probably Slade House by David Mitchell.

The woods are lovely dark and deep
Started The Bazaar of Bad Dreams yesterday and after reading the Author's Note and the Introduction, I thought: "Hello, Dear Friend, we are here together again and after all of these years, you still make me smile."

I especially appreciated
Mr. King's description of his struggles to keep a short story short; for me that was especially touching as I have never been the fan of the short story, that is, me always wanting more .:icon_eek:
He has this way of writing that makes you feel that you are right there at his knee listening.

Finished Texas Glory. A story about the Alamo. Important bit parts were played by Davy Crockett, William Travis and Jim Bowie but the man characters were officer under them , and under Santa Anna,. Not a great western novel, not in Lonesome Dove class, but good enough.
