Had to set aside, have four library books to read. This is so different from Dr. Kellerman's others, I am not sure about the main character yet but it is a wonderful read IMHO.
I'm still not sure about "the murderers daughter", but it's still an intriguing book. I usually have enough to keep me occupied with my own books, though occasionally I'll use the library. But they always show up at the most inopportune times and I need to do as you have..

A VOLUPTUOS PANIC by Mel Gordon. All about the wild sex and drug culture of Weimar Berlin (1919 to 1933). Holy...holy crap! I mean, I knew the place was wild back then, I've seen The Blue Angel and all that, but...holy crap! Lola Lola ain't got nothing on that Anita Berber. And the pictures...ye GODS, the pictures--some very disturbing images, lots of em, many of which I wish I could UN-see. A big old coffee table book I dare not leave on the coffee table. NOT FOR THE SQUEAMISH!

When im not reading my factbook i have started An Island in the Sea of Time by s.M.Stirling. good timetravel, alternate history story where Nantucket gets throw back to 1250 BC. Has similarities with Flints 1632 in its approach. Will be interesting to see if it can carry its promise to fullfilment. It has started Very good.

I just read Robert McCammon's "The Border." I loved it from the beginning to the end. What's funny is that I really didn't want to read it. I wasn't in the mood for an alien invasion story. I was in-between books and couldn't find the perfect thing to read so I went with it. It's McCammon after all, I says to myself. Even if I don't like the story that much, I'll enjoy the writing. But Bam, page one I'm in there. I highly recommend The Border.

One of my favorite books from this year. I actually pre-ordered it from Subterranean Press and got an autographed copy! Pretty cool, I say.

I'm about halfway through Chuck Palahniuk's Invisible Monsters.

Very cool! I love McCammon. I was looking for the next book in the Matthew Corbett series hoping the next story would be out. Book 6? That's when I found The Border.
I haven't read any Palahniuk yet, oddly enough. Which Palahniuk would you recommend as a fist read?

I started Submerged by Thomas Montleone a couple of days ago. It had just come in the mail. I ordered it from Borderlands Press (Thomas is the publisher and owner) when they had a 75% off sale. It's actually a Cemetary Dance publication, but Thomas sold copies thru his website. He even signed it for me! It's about a secret Nazi submarine that is 'lost' at the end of WW II and then discovered in present day at the bottom of the ocean. I just got to the part where it's found. Pretty interesting so far!

Yesterday, I finished Avenue of Mysteries. Classic John Irving!! Tragedy, heartbreak and hilarity on every page. I also read a collection of 3 novellas, by Patrick Modiano. He won the Nobel Prize in 2014 and reading about his work made me curious. The stories written over a span of 5 years all deal with the same basic premise, but each is unique and original in its own way. Oh! And it's called Suspended Sentences.

Right now I'm into Beatlebone, by Kevin Barry. A fanciful "what if" about John Lennon trying to escape to an island he owns off the coast of Ireland. Very funny and touching so far. And also, Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World, by Haruki Murakami.

I'm reading NOS4A2 by Joe Hill. One book left on my first Dark Tower journey so I decided to take a break and try this one out since its Christmas time. Loving every minute of it! Been dying to re read Black House lately for some reason so I may tackle that next and then wrap up my Dark Tower journey. If I can wait that long LOL.

Started my reread of Cujo as part of my massive Stephen King reread project.

I'm only 50 pages in and my stomach has already twisted into knots two or three times. This is SUCH a bleak book. (And I've read this thing three times before, mind you.)

I've never had an autographed book before,

Congrats! I never had an autographed book until last year when my friend got me a signed copy of A Simple Plan.

Since then I also found an autographed William Gibson book The Peripheral which I promptly purchased...but am now too afraid that I'll ruin it, so I haven't read it, and it just sits behind glass.

Hmmph...now that I think about it, it's kind of depressing. Books are made to be read. I guess I'll pick it up when it comes out in paperback.
