The author claims his name is Stephen King so nothing we can do about it.
This might be the reason Jordan is asking us to contact Amazon. The "other" SK can keep his name and his book. We want the deception stopped. Amazon needs to distinguish the two authors and make them separate from each other. Neither ones book s should be included in ads/ emails/ web pages of the other. Amazon need to stop including both authors on the same page.
Tabby's got him on a budget....Dang it, you guys! Now we went and got Marsha out of bed.
Anyhoo, yeesh...how stupid do some cats gotta be to think THE Stephen King would publish on Createspace. I mean...derf...?
I mean...yeesh, uncle Stevie's own son didn't even take the King name in an effort to make it on his own. This Fauxking guy is just a shameless piece of...poop.
Sorry for the double posts tonight. Blame Comcast!!!!!
I blame the other Stephen King.
That basstid!!!!!!!!!!!!I blame the other Stephen King.
Didn't Steve and Tabitha join a coalition of writers boycotting Amazon a while ago?Heh heh heh heh.
We should all go leave horrible, nasty reviews of his books on Amazon. Like, all of us SKMBrs. Light the torches, bring the pitchforks, and just MOB his arse.
But, then, doofy freaking Amazon would probably block us. They're a buncha backwards jerks over there.
Not exactly boycotting, but it was about e-pricing and Amazon's fight with Hachette.Didn't Steve and Tabitha join a coalition of writers boycotting Amazon a while ago?
It only lasted a few days, but they did add a middle initial to his name. I don't know why it got changed back unless the guy insisted on it. The notice is going to be added to Steve's Facebook page so maybe that will get their attention if people follow up with Amazon.Amazon had the cheek to recommend one of this guy's books to me a few days ago. The worst of it is, I can see how and why people are getting taken in. The jacket fonts, overall design and even the titles are pretty close to what you might expect a real SK book to carry. It's only my familiarity with his output and adherence to 'If it's not mentioned on here, it's not a genuine release' that's saved me from being conned (because that's what it is, whether Amazon chooses to accept it or not).
There may be nothing that can be done legally, assuming this guy's name really is Stephen King, but there've been numerous authors who have had the same name as previously published (and better known) writers and have had the decency to insert a second initial, change the spelling, or even adopt a nom-de-plume so as to avoid confusion and/or accusations of duping readers.
Perhaps the threat of bringing out the wood chippa would work as well.....It only lasted a few days, but they did add a middle initial to his name. The nuclear option?Perhaps the threat of bringing out the wood chippa would work as well.....
