I'm a bit curious to see how they get around the whole accidental knife attack on guests - ed seems to do it a lot on the units - but what preventions are set up for guests? knifes have no blanks !
I don't know. If some robot (host) has a moment of self awareness and chooses to attack a guest, all bets are off.

I had a thought about why I was so broken hearted for the rancher.

The hosts, when they have a moment of clarity are very much like Alzheimer patients. An Alzheimer patient tends to be someone who has to have things very regimented. Very consistent from day to day. If things are different for them, it can send them into hours of agitation. So, if their spoon is in the wrong place, it can make or break a day for them.

When this rancher host finds the picture, it has put a kink in his very regimented day. And although a guest can always change his storyline, it is still very much within the scheme of the wild west. But, this picture was of a girl in a modern day city. It messed with his very organized way of looking at the world. And like an Alzheimer patient, they can have moments where the fog lifts, of knowing they are "wrong." Something is wrong with them.

It is heartbreaking and I guess I saw that vulnerability in the rancher. Still breaks my heart when I think about it.

Tonight a new episode and more of the puzzle -- can't wait!

Wow - that is so insightful - you really made me think - brought back memories of Dad

I did notice the music on the player piano and was trying to recall the song when it came to me (after a Google search of the lyrics of course :facepalm_smiley:) - Black Hole Sun by Soundgarden

This looks like a very promising series - I remember seeing the original movie at the theatre way back when!

so, what hat would you chose?

I watched a cartoon years ago called me Ben, in which he went into a fancy dress shop and chose his costume - then walked out the changing room door into his weekly adventure .

man, I'd love the chance to stand in Westworlds costume hall and chose my Stetson -
