The damn mouse is still alive....or at least he didn't come out last night. No signs of him anywhere.
With my luck, it's a girl mouse, and took the night off to give birth to a herd.....

See you need one of my cats. ;) And if you like dogs I have one cat that thinks she's part Labrador Retriever. She likes playing fetch and will return the toy to you after she retrieves it, and also likes playing catch. She'll jump amost 5 feet in the air to catch a toy.

Had to smile at that- I had an Akita who thought he was a cat!

We have a red tailed hawk in the neighborhood.....it could take off with my dog.

We have red-tailed hawks too. They fly above the tractor when hubby is mowing to watch for mice that run from the mower. We also have a small dog I won't let outside by herself, those hawks would pick her up and fly off with her.

We had roof rats when we lived in the city, partly because we had a couple pecan trees in the backyard, partly because the neighbor was feeding them (they left dog food out for their dogs). When the house was quite at night, we could hear them moving about in the walls. The exterminator found where they were getting inside the attic so we fixed that and then he put snap traps baited with peanut butter in the attic. We still had rats outside though and I really didn't want to ask the neighbor to quit feeding them but luckily she didn't get upset when I mentioned it to her. I store all food like flour and sugar in mason jars so it won't attract mice and bugs.

Good luck!

Wen my brother was a struggling artist and living in NYC, I went to visit him one weekend. He knew of an area where they had discarded stones from the early 1700’s that were once used to pave the streets of Manhattan. As a history buff I wanted to get some in order to build a small sitting area in my back yard. We made several trips along the river on mountain bikes equipped with saddles to cart the stones. The first trip was early in the morning and it was still dark. The rats were scurrying back and forth from the buildings to the river. Every so often you would feel and hear "bump – bump" under the wheels. You knew what it was... a sound and feeling you don’t soon forget.

If Sundrop continues to fail in her quest, she could always try a mountain bike. ;)
