LOL I am more than old enough to remember, but didn't see it because we weren't allowed to watch much TV.

I have not seen Being Jane, but will definitely seek it out now! Thanks for the rec! :love_heart:

I second the rec for Being Jane.
I watched a new Netflix movie called Okja last night, about a girl and her CGI giant pig. I found it disjointed and weird. Parts were sweet and touching. Some characters deep, others cartoonish. Also watched a couple Spanish films that were forgettable.

I can't find Being Jane. Is it Becoming Jane, maybe?

A biographical portrait of a pre-fame Jane Austen and her romance with a young Irishman.

I love James McAvoy. He's a cutie pie.

I first noticed him in Wanted.

Yep, Becoming Jane. I got the book title (Being Jane Austen) and the movie title mixed up. :p He has been in SO many good roles! Starter for 10, Rory O'Shea Was Here, Filth, Welcome To The Punch, Trance, Penelope, The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe,The Last Station, The Last King of Scotland... He was the best part of The Conspirator, which should have been a good movie, but was actually pretty boring.

I like McAvoy but, as a straight male, he doesn't do that much for me (Rosario Dawson in the art heist one - another matter entirely). But didn't you spot him in The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe?

Hey, sir.

I watched Ms.Dawson in Unforgettable yesterday. (Not a great film.)

I did not notice him in The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. :(
I don't usually watch action movies but Wanted was enjoyable for me.

Have a good weekend.

Also earlier, the false rumour about Eastwoods death made me see two of his movies. High Plains Drifter and Pale Rider. Also made me rewatch some Bronson movies. Death Wish and Chato's Land. When looking at movies like these i sometimes wonder if it is true that it was better before our times. They tell a simple story and end when the story ends and are not infected by an abundance of special effects, CGI, animation and whatever.

I enjoyed this one so much more than the last Star Wars flick. It was great to see Diego Luna with a starring role in a US flick. He's one of my favorite Mexican actors. He has been in a few US flicks over the years but never with such a big role.
Yeah that's a good movie! Can't wait for episode VIII!

Some kind of zombie/end of world movie starring Matthew Fox and Jeffrey Donovan. It was meh.

Definitely, Maybe
Rom com with Ryan Reynolds. He plays a soon to be divorced dad to a young Abigail Breslin and she wants to know how he and her mom fell in love. So he tells her of his 3 great loves, changing their names so she can guess who her mother is. Kind of cute, except for only one of the 3 women characters were likeable. I did enjoy watching Isla Fisher in a non-ditzy role. I think I've outgrown romantic comedy movies.

Demolition.
Jake Gyllenhaal and Naomi Watts. I am only halfway through this one, but so far it's great. Jake Gyllenhaal plays a Wall Street, everything in it's place, type A person, who loses his wife in a car accident, Naomi Watts a customer service person for a vending machine company that he did not get M&Ms from at the hospital. He starts writing letters to the vending machine company as a way to vent and deal with his loss and she is the one reading his letters. He kind of loses it but I think in a way that is going to lead to him finding himself. It is really interesting so far.
