Back from work, and the doctor, and i had hoped for better news. He think he knows what it is but has ordered an xray to be sure. He thinks it is (dont know the english word here) a kind of tear or sprain or something /he called it a rupture, is that a word in english?) of the achilles tendon. No inflammation but if it is what he thinks the only way to remedy it is an operation. We'll know for sure after the xrays. Got some painkillers for when it really hurts. That means no Floorball for awhile. Sad!
How Will I Recover from My Achilles Tendon Injury?

We have a new dog. Have I mentioned that? He's Shadow, black lab(ish). About eight months old now. We've had him for a month. Grandma got him from a rescue program while I was overseas. Yes, we talked about it, and I was fine with it.

Story of today: It's humbling to realize that your dog is training you.

He was doing great yesterday, prompted by treats, to fetch and drop. He wanted to go back out today, so we went. I forgot the treats. I threw the ball, and he ran after it but left it alone, staying at the far end of the yard.

I thought, "Okay, we'll try this one more time, but I should have treats," and went inside to get them. When I came out, he was at the door. As soon as I was outside, he ran and fetched the toy at the far end of the yard, came back, and dropped it.

That's when I realized he's training me to fetch treats for him.
