Read a book called Hand To Mouth: Living in Bootstrap America. Sounded like a good book, but it just felt off to me. I've never been one of the upper crust (lol), and this writer's style and diction just felt off for someone of the lower income bracket--like someone putting on an act. Did some research when I was done, and yup, there is a lot of doubt about her stories. What a jackass. Poverty porn.
Now I'm reading Christopher Moore's latest, Noir, and giggling through the whole thing. Set in Post WWII San Francisco, full of dames, lugs, and speakeasies. Maybe a few aliens, too. Funny, funny stuff!
