Finished Illegal Alien (by Robert Sawyer, a canadian SF-writer). It is a strange mix but it works. It tells a good tale like the golden age SF-writers like Heinlein, its wellresearched when it comes to the science facts (which was not a toppriority with Heinlein) like say Crichton and it is a good courtromm drama like say Grisham at his best. I liked the mix. Entertaining.
Also started 1942. It is an alternative history story concerning the japanese attack on pearl. Here it succeeds even better because they do make their planned third attackwave which in our timeline they didnt. This strikes out the gas and fuel reserves which means ships and plans cant refuel. So they plan an invasion because because of the lack of fuel Hawaii becomes difficult to defend. No fuel for counterattacks or patrolling just enough for a ship to get there and back home. But without refueling it becomes a sitting duck. .

I've been speed reading David Drake's Servant of the Dragon. Last 100 pages left. Book is kinda boring pretty much. And there's like 3 more books of the Los of the Isles series.

Later tonight I'll be reading Tom Clancy's Command Authority and maybe start reading Memnoch The devil by Anne rice

Ran out of SK and Joe books on the ol' Kindle (which I use for before-sleep reading). So, as I was looking through my massive ebook library, I ran across The Shining Girls. I know I got it on a recommendation from someone here. Anyway, almost halfway through and I'm loving it. My daytime read is Hiaasen's first YA book, Skink: No Surrender. Found a brand-new HC of it at the thrift shop. I love Skink :)

Speed reading a book by David Drake, its not pleasent. Yeah I still know whats going on with the characters but most of the time a whole 100 pages of filler stuff I just cant sit through and read and be bored. Sometimes speed reading comes in handy sort where I just want to be done with the damn book

I've been reading fluff. I just needed a brain break. I'm needing something fast paced now. Have any of you read The Woman in the Window or The Wife Between Us? They sound intriguing - I can't find them in any of my thrifts. Also - I'm going to buy The Outsider soon. Very soon. Right now, I'm just picking through things I've read before. I need something new.

Picked up a copy of The Outsider today from the library - think I will start it soon (I am afraid if I start it tonight I will up too late so maybe I should wait until tomorrow).

I'm reading Capricorn One by the pseudonym of the author Ken Follett. Capricorn One, the movie, is one of my favorite movies of all time, i saw it at the cinema when it first came out about 7 times. Hal Holbrook is really good in it and so is James Brolin, OJ Simpson, and Sam Waterston and Elliot Gould etc.

Gorilla In My Room - Jack Ketchum

This is a book of short stories and there's some good stuff here. My favorite so far is one called A Group Of Thirty which is a bit autobiographical and funny as hell.
A horror author gets a call from a group that wants to have him speak at their club. The author accepts and goes to the event which is in the basement of a church. He finds out that they invited him there to blame him for bad stuff that others have done. They claim his nasty horror stories have caused these crimes and they want to do to him what he does to his characters.
