She is almost all healed! We took her bandage off yesterday but she scratched a few spots open again so a new bandage went right back on. Took it off again this morning about 30 minutes ago and she has been good so far. No scratching.

She has 2 spots that are still scabbed over. Her fur is coming back nicely. I think we may try a new collar soon. Just have to make sure it is all nylon, she has worn those with no trouble.

She has developed some weird phobia of being on the floor in the basement though. The litter box is down there in the laundry room so it is pretty important she get over whatever is going on. We have to carry her to the litter box. Then she jumps to the washer and sits there until you pick her up. It is very strange and we cannot figure it out. If you try to put her down she fights it and then takes off like a blue streak, either jumping on furniture or up the stairs.

We hope once she gets a collar back on she will feel like herself again and get over not wanting to walk on the floor.
awww, sweet babe. I'm so sorry she is having an issue with the floor. Could you have a mouse? We had a cat that was terrified of mice. Terrified! Maybe on her way to the box one night she encountered The Monster. Everything always looks scary in a basement at night. Especially when you have to pee.

Now that is just weird. Could she have somehow got a shock or something while on the floor? Is it a weird texture so maybe a rug around her box could be added? I love cats, but man they can be real freak shows!! :biggrin2:
It is the strangest thing!! We cannot figure it out. I can't see how she would get a shock of any kind, unless it was like a static discharge kind of thing maybe. But she just will not walk down there. Even in our bedroom, she freaks out. And she has slept with us since we brought her home. If we carry her, she is fine. But no touching the floor.

I really do not want to put a litter box upstairs but we may have to. Or try bribing her with treats until she figures out nothing is going to get her downstairs!

No mice, and I think she would do what cats do if there was one. She has always been the proverbial curious, playful cat, not a scaredy cat. It is just strange.
