In my opinion, Sex and the City was a terrible, unrealistic show. It sent the wrong message to young women because it promoted promiscuity. The writers always seemed to conveniently ignore the potential for pregnancy and the skyrocketing rate of STDs.
Most of the women I know just have 1 or 2 best friends. They don't hang out in a pack like Carrie Bradshaw did.
I always thought it was odd how 4 women who hadn't worked together and didn't go to the same college became such good friends.
They had nothing in common, no mutual friends or shared experiences. It was all so random and unlikely, even in a city like New York.
