Took ShadowPunk Cat to the vet for his annual check-up and some vaccinations over the weekend, where he promptly got very ill and had to be admitted. They found fluid in his abdomen and aren't sure why it's there. Budget busting round of testing showed no cancer or obvious signs of heart disease. They are following up with the vaccine manufacturer to see if he may have had an allergic reaction. It costs more to take a pet to the vet than it does for me to see the doctor!
Sorry to hear that. Hope ShadowPunk Cat makes a speedy and full recovery.
I love his name, btw.

I am having quite a nice day (finally). It's my husband's birthday, so he came home from work and we gace him iur gifts (the one I purchased and one that we made with our daughter. And now I am going to the concert of the singer I have been listening to fir more than 15 years. Just awesome to have a night out since I don't have this chance often now, as I am all alone with my baby all days.

At the home improvement center last evening I had a young lady come in to purchase mealworms. It wasn’t the first time she came in and left with a crap-load of them. We got to talking. She lamented at $14.98 for a rather small bag it was sending her to the poor farm. She said she rents a place next to a farm and every morning little piglets come to her looking for food. She also loves starlings because they remind her of a starry night (nasty looking birds in my opinion) that also come every day by the hundreds looking to be fed. She drops about $150 in mealworms every week. So I tried steering her in a less expensive direction, but she said she won’t switch from mealworms because the critters just love them. I asked her if she ever considered chewy.com for less expensive mealworms. She said no because she only thought it was for dogs and cats. So I took her over to a computer and logged onto the site. She marveled at the low prices they had for mealworms. I told her she could also save money there if she signed up for automatic renewal shipments. I told her to also look into RetailMeNot to get coupon codes for even more additional savings. She thanked me for showing her a way to save money. I told her she was welcome and said I expected not to see her come into the home improvement center again, at least not to purchase mealworms, anyway.

Don’t knock it until you try it. I like mine in a sammich ......they kinda squiggle around a little bit but just jam the bread together to hold ‘em.
Next time go with the soup and sammich.
