Hey friends, just checking in to say a quick hello to everyone.

The virus has hit Trinidad & Tobago where I live. Five cases from Thursday 12/03 to present. I'm working from home for the next few weeks. The Government has ordered the closure of all bars, etc. Cinemas are closed. Public gatherings are discouraged. Our borders are closed to everything except cargo ships for the next two weeks. My mom is in an elderly care home and even though they are taking all precautions, I'm still concerned about her. I'm limiting my outdoor activities, going out only for quick meetings or to get supplies. The panic buying here is just as stupid as everywhere else.

We used to say the world is changing. But change is officially here. Whenever this whole thing dies down, we need to re-think the way we do basically everything.

In the meantime, stay safe and listen to (and heed) the advice of the experts. And please, more than ever, try to be kind to one another.

Love you folks. Be good.
Holding you to good vibes, safety and good health. Prayers for your mom to stay well,

Don't the passengers still have to go up to the front of the buses to pay, if they don't have a pass to flash at the driver?
Out system is that you dont pay with cash on buses. It was too common that the drivers got robbed. So ypu buy your fare in advance either on a monthly basis or with your phone or several other variants that you can choose from.

A teen here in sweden had a little outburst and said: "When the Climate threaten us younger people the government ignores it and do nothing, when this virus threaten the rich older people the government do everything!!" You see his point.
and there you go. It's hard to address why some diseases get more headlines, more voices demanding and more money thrown at them without getting hot topic.
But, this pretty well sums it up for a few of the big scourges.

I think that is nonsense.. this disease does not discriminate between young and old, rich or poor, I saw today an Italian soccer player died at the age of 21, he had leukemia which he was unaware of, until he couldn't breathe when this virus also attacked. Being divisive is ridiculous and not fair to older people, for crying out loud they built our countries and made a pretty nice living for most in developed nations. Not meaning to make this political, but my oldest sister lives five minutes from the hot zone in NYC, and has been sick all winter, and I am worried about her. I don't want her to die, and it doesn't matter how old you are, frankly, I don't anyone to die but we must deal with it, and as united people rather than dividing up into this one deserves to die, that one deserves to die..

I respect your opinion. I could give some very good examples of diseases totally ignored until it effected a certain group or class of people, but again, it would take it hot topic.

I'm not saying that is the case here with COVID. I talk that this has happened in history with certain epidemics.
