10 Gallon Traditional Copper Moonshine Still on sale for $550.

Nice sale... Time to brew some good old Northern Appalachia Pocono Mountain Firewater? I wonder if my high school friend still has his grandmother's recipe.
I'll share our family recipe.......but you'll have to agree to pronounce Appalachian correctly.

So, my job that I have with my studies just said that they are closed to the customers, but staff are still to go in. But then I'm getting an e-mail from my Union telling me that I've to stay at home, because I'm part of the UK Governments health issue protection group, being that I get a flu jab every year, and those with such conditions are to stay at home. So, I'm in limbo at the moment. Hopefully there will be more information.

Good Gawd, man!....at least put on your wife's robe. You'll scare the neighbors!
(Nah!..... SPEEDOS! ....and REALLY freak the neighbors out! ;) )

Seriously though,
I was glad to see in the blip-vert news crawl this morning, that more and more grocery stores are opening at certain hours for higher risk seniors. Someone complained they saw a woman in her 30's taking advantage of this.
...maybe she had a baby at home, or was caring for a elder. You never know.

I was in line at Walgreens and a lady in front of me got a rain check for toilet paper.

Was the rain check made out of paper? Maybe she could crumple it up a few times so it doesn't hurt as much

(Sorry - I am repeating my bad joke from the Ka-Tet Playground) :tounge::facepalm_smiley:

Library is open but all extras have been cancelled, like meetings or story time, those kinds of things.

Our libraries are all closed as of March 16th

Here's my takes on toilet paper and generators.

1. People of certain religions or mindsets or philosophies or have a Great Depression legacy in their family memory have an inclination to bulk up needed supplies for times of hardship. Well, here comes SARS version 3, this time much more well-armed, and 14-day (or more) quarantines seem like a real possibility. What are you gonna run out of in 14 days? Toilet paper is at the top of the list. Stock up!

2. Generators. People start thinking about survivalist times, even if this one isn't it. It's not necessarily that they think they'll need a generator in a week, but this reminds them that they don't have one. Buy it while we're thinking of it.

3. People are stupid. Just calm down, buy normal stuff, put down "generator" as a reminder a few months from now when the prices will be back down, don't sell your stocks in a bear market, and there'll be plenty for everyone.
I wish everyone felt like this

One local chain is doing that here but so far only from 5-6 AM on Wednesdays. Just couldn't convince myself to take advantage of that this morning even though I'm awake and starting work at 5:30 AM these days since AZ doesn't do daylight savings time. Hopefully more stores will join the party so there will be more options at other hours/days.

There is a press briefing going on about Corona at the White House, I'm of course getting the important things out of it. :) Like this, is it me or does Mike Pence seem like an annoyed History teacher? No complaints though, I love history.
First Prime Minister Trudeau looks like a geography teacher, now Mike Pence looks like a history teacher ;):misdoubt: - you must have some interesting looking teachers in Scotland!

What measures do prisons, nursing homes, or other facilities where large amounts of people are housed in close quarters do during this social distancing phase? I imagine those might be hot plates for a virus to spread.
