I've read some rough gritty books coming out of that publishing house. You never know.
The flake of snow stuck to my boot heel after that skiing trip in the mountains that finally melted off.

My Thoughts:
Glenn Chadbourne not only gives us a wonderfully intricate piece for the cover, he also contributes works of art that are part of the trivia content. Each art piece had a question all its own. Terrific way to give a proper shout-out to an artist.
Bev Vincent with his foreword and Kevin Quigley in his Afterword show great enthusiasm for the project.
The book itself is a 4 bookmark thing.
I had my pages marked with them in the following four places: the page I was on, the clues page, the answer page and then finally, one on the page that gave the answers for the beautiful art piece questions.
As I read each question, whether I knew it, guessed it (I did pretty well) or desperately needed that clue, I read every single clue and then read every single answer. Which thank God for the clues which ranged from clever, to tongue-in-cheek, informative, and how-in-the-hell-is-this-supposed-to-help-me types of hints.
This book was packed with some great information. I had moments of thinking, WHAT? Who is this? What story is this? What book is this? And some were cock-a-doodie cheats -- questions about things not available to the general public.
And the great thing about this book, it was a symbiotic relationship between the editor/authors and the community that adores Mr. Stephen King.
Anyone could submit a question with answers and citing information. So, the community did the legwork too. Nice credit given to those helpers. I read every single one of your names. You did great!
What did I learn from this Big Book of Trivia?
Everything.
I handed in an abysmal score. I couldn't have answered most of these without those multiple choice options, but my greatest help came from those clues.
So, I guess it's time to kick me out of the club. You guys need to change the secret handshake; I need to relinquish my Little Orphan Annie decoder ring (Be Sure to Drink Your Nozz-a-la); and I need to keep a sharp eye out for you creepy bastids and avoid the Cujo effigy you are building to lock me inside the belly of the beast and Wicker B*tch my ass.
It has become quite clear to me -- I need to read all things Stephen King again because obviously, I don't remember enough to claim I know a damn thing about these stories.

I love this book. Imagine having the most important thing you've ever created co-opted and turned into something completely different, where it gains a new life beyond your control. Brilliant!

Well, I guess I'm the queen of obtuse. I understood your clues most of the time. They were my only salvation.
I did have a couple where I was thinking, "what the hell is he talking about?"
Have you seen that Jurassic Park movie where the hunter guy is zeroing in on a ...was it a velociraptor? And the one sneaks up on him off to the side and he says, "Clevah girl" ????
That's what I did when I read the clues. I gave you mad props for being so clever. They were funny and sneaky and interesting -- but they helped me A LOT.

I have very high hopes for this as one of my favorite authors blurbs it, Karen Russell.
I love her work and she loved this work. Can't get much better than that for me.
...I think you’ll fare very well with Owen’s novel....he smells different than Dad, but in a good new book fragrance kinda way...
