No, but I should've asked him to put one in there!
On the topic of goats I find it hillarious how often they’re associated with satanic cults and baphomet and what-not. They look creepy when displayed that way but in real life they’re just cute simple-minded creatures that don’t look too threatening (unless you end up at the end of a headbutt)

I'm starting to get a little concerned that I'm not going to have a grab bag under my xmas tree seeing as how things got hung up when they lost their printer. Or one of their printers. Not their fault by any means, things happen. It's my one and only gift under the tree though, so bummed about that.

I will give myself something else. All will be well.

Got my email the grab has shipped now I await for it to arrive. Lists some good books.

I got my notice too! Yippppppeeeeeee! I am so excited! And I am so thrilled at the choices we get. I wish I didn't know what they were, BUT.....now I don't have to put that box under my tree! I can tear into it immediately!

OH HELL YEAH!

I just got my package of books from CD! I am gobsmacked at this. Usually when I get the notice, it's pushing week two for me to see the books. I just saw my notice of shipping last night, and here they are on my doorstep today!

In regards to my last couple weeks of The Year of Cemetery Dance 2018, I still have plenty of books I could read. I had some lined up for my final two.

BUT....since I just received a package of CD books today (which I knew what books they were so I can open the package instead of putting it under my tree), I will be reading these new books for the last 2 weeks.

I am so excited by the authors and the books. Giddy! vertiginous!

I am squealing like a squealmeister!!!!!

Every single one of these new books -- I am so happy. I'm going to have a hard time deciding exactly which ones I'm going to read. I probably won't get them all in before the end of the year, not enough time left. I will have a tough decision.

My next book was going to be Stephen King: Uncollected, Unpublished by Rocky Wood, David Rawsthorne and Norma Blackburn.

And I was going to finish up the year with:

Stephen King: Hearts in Suspension

But alas, Squirrel Life. I'm going to get that tattooed on my knuckles.

74. SMOKE AND MIRRORS

Edited by Richard Chizmar

About the Book:

"Tales of horror and the fantastic have been told in many ways over the centuries — around the campfire, on the stage, in books and movies, and even on television — but no form is quite so visceral and direct as the script.

Whether it's a stage play, a feature film screenplay, or the script for a classic horror comic, these acclaimed authors aren't just putting black text on a white page. The writing may seem clean and simple at first, but the authors are actually creating worlds; they're luring you into their creations and before you know it, there's no way out. You're part of the story and you have to keep turning the pages until you reach "The End" or "Fade Out."

The big question is: will you survive to see the final curtain call?

Come now, take your seat, and let the show begin. You have nothing to fear but your own imagination."

My Thoughts:

Les Edwards delivers once again with his beautifully creative art. I also love the interior design work of having the page numbers on the top of the page mirrored at the bottom. Nice little detail.

I have two editions of this. One I ordered which was just a basic book, and then I got a really nice one in a grab bag. Signed by all the authors! Score!

These writers contributed their work in the state it was originally in. So that means we see the warts; we see the format they submitted in; we see the fonts and the scritches and scratches -- all the imperfections are there and it makes this a must-have for my library. I was particularly interested in the comic book scripts as I don't think I'd ever seen how that was laid out before.

What is interesting to me, some of the submissions weren't all that professional in appearance. They were rough and messy and were sent out as is. Talent won the day and these pieces weren't thrown in a slush pile because of poor font choices, botched formatting or smudge misspellings.

I would recommend this to everyone, but especially for those of you who write and submit.
