Mr King once wrote that Carrion Comfort by Dan Simmons is one of three greatest horror novels of the Twentieth Century. Anybody out there know what he said the other two were?

...welcome oh Don of Troy....and I came up empty-eyed when I went a-lookin'...I remember the quote, but can't conjur up the other two novels...possibly The Haunting of Hill House, in addition to Ghost Story?....
That is a quote by someone in "Goodreads" - are you sure he actually wrote that? Maybe he wants us to guess what the other two are?Mr King once wrote that Carrion Comfort by Dan Simmons is one of three greatest horror novels of the Twentieth Century. ...if I'm close-do I win cookies??????...huh, huh, huh???.....I remember his saying it, but can't remember the context to try to research it.
Haunting Of Hill House sounds likely as does something by Richard Matheson?
I read it and enjoyed it very much. At times I felt I was reading Stephen King, since there is similitude in styles. The movie version, Will Smith notwithstanding, was a travesty. The Matheson book Steve often mentions would be I Am Legend which is what he says made him realize that horror could be set in modern times, not just as a gothic novel.
Yes, the Smith version isn't that good but the one starring Charleton Heston is a classic- it's called The Omega Man.I read it and enjoyed it very much. At times I felt I was reading Stephen King, since there is similitude in styles. The movie version, Will Smith notwithstanding, was a travesty.
There's another version with Vincent Price, unsure of the title, but I believe there are still more film adaptations.Yes, the Smith version isn't that good but the one starring Charleton Heston is a classic- it's called The Omega Man.
