Thank you all for birthday cards... Your wishes, cakes and rhymes
But they've left me feeling I'm amongst the lowest slimes.
I don't send out birthday greetings... Why should I receive
So much love? (This year I didn't even write to Steve.)
I do not deserve you folks; such dear and thoughtful friends.
Wish there were a way that I could start to make amends.
Years ago I wrote a blanket welcome and I thought
That's how I'd apologize to those who I've forgot...
Not that I'd forget you guys. You're often on my mind
But, these days, spare time on the computer's hard to find.
Thus, I've missed so many special people's special days
(People who forgave me and were thoughtful anyways.)
