Somewhere over the Rainbow
Recently, I was thumbing through the audiobooks trying to find something to read by Mr. King before his new book came out in November and I decided on The Lot. With recently re-reading "Jerusalem's Lot" in his collection "Night Shift" that was the final push to get me finally buy the book.
I am so glad I did.
This book is one of his best descriptive works. From a spell bounding narrative of New England's seasons to building anticipation and finally a climax during the funeral of Danny Glick, it really takes you on a journey.
The last time I cried during reading a Stephen King book was "Joyland." While I was driving in my car last night, I found myself sobbing while listening to this audio.
The reader brings this book to life (along with a great intro from King himself, which gets you in the mood).
At this point, I am not sure why I waited so long to read "Salem's Lot." I know one thing, I plan to savor it as long as I can.

OK, so I am done! Yay! What a great read! You know its a good book when you finish it and you are a little sad that it's over. :bat:
I think Mark was my favorite character. He was stronger than Ben. Again, why did I wait so long! Good things come to those who wait??:facepalm_smiley:

Mark freaking rocks. He and Jake Chambers are among the best young boy characters King has ever created.

I wholeheartedly agree that this is one of King's best works.
