One character in this novel has a revealing view on Christianity : it is a fast spreading cancer of society brought by the alien Jesus. I would like to know what is Mr. King's personal opinion on Christianity. Did the Dreamcatcher novel get very negative feedback from Christian fanatics in USA ? And since we are at it , what is SK's view on Islam ?

My view is live and let live. Belief is a very personal thing and we should respect others, whatever theirs may be.

As for the book Dreamcatcher, after an aborted first attempt at reading it (not in the right frame of mind) I tried again and loved it.

Excellent article. Thank you for sharing. It's pretty much how I feel, too.

Thanks for the link. Apparently Stephen is a "wavering agnostic" like many other higher order visionaries.

Do Good and let God sort it out at the end...if he's not still on vacation.

Ahhh well as to what scares him, that is very very common for people reaching his age. And I don't blame him, as one who spends his days crafting and manipulating language, it would be more than the average horror for a writer. I am currently studying cognition and aging and everything that can go wrong (and all the things that can be preserved). My hope is that he will not face that particular boogeyman.

My Dad had Alzheimer's and it was very gradual, so we are not quite sure when he got it. So - do you think this disease may be hereditary Chazel1972?

Hi Cristian M - I do not remember saying welcome to you and I've been away a few days, so welcome anyway! p.s. There is also a "Religion" thread if you feel like discussing Christianity etc.
