You don't have to answer, if you don't want.
I assume the Moderators are selected from volunteers based on how long they've been SKMB members, availability, and other reasonable factors. Knowledge of sK, other than what he expects per the FAQ, would, I continue to assume, not be considered as important relative to certain other people-oriented type qualities.

Great answer. I agree wholeheartedly. Thanks, blunthead.

This begs the question: How else would one then get to be chosen Moderator?
I'm not sure, possibly years of service as a Beta Tester? (Pre-testing new MB's before they go live, previewing/giving support and advice on new projects/graphics for the site etc)

I'm a little bit confused about your question, do you mean perhaps I shouldn't play the games because my book knowledge may be unfair to other members? I've probably read about the same as most of the other folks here and truly my memory is a bit crap so I use the Library list to help me recall titles.
But I'd happily step out of the games if folks thought I had an unfair advantage...

I don't think prufrock is implying that, at least I hope not. I hope you continue playing, Flake. I need to see yer face around here as much as I can. Also, I always refer to the Library for clues to puzzles as well as to come up with my moves in this and other games.

Nothing sinister intended, Flake, even though this is the SKMB and creepy things are discussed. Just curious how the powers that be at SK would choose anyone to serve here. Of course, you should play, since you are, I assume, also a Constant Reader, and, being a CR, I respect your right to participate.
So, as we used to say in the 60's--truck on.:encouragement:
