I’m so fresh here, that I can be served as a part of the meal, therefore I’m uncertain if it is proper for me to suggest any changes.
However, I think it would be quite exciting to be able to Express/Share an Ideas with Other-Selves in here.

I was thinking about a sub-forum titled “Ideas”.
It would be a place, where every-One could Share His/Her Ideas with Others – and by Sharing an Idea in such sub-forum, People would automatically give permission to Other-Selves to use such Idea in any way They see fit – including to base on such Ideas Work of Other-Selves (Stories, Books, TV series, etc.). That would be the KEY thing – whenever some-One decides to Share an Idea, “It” would become “Public” – available for All to use it, change/modify it or whatever else may be do with an Idea – including use it to earn money (i.e. to sell Stories/Books based on Ideas Offered in/at such sub-Forum) – Public means Public = Available to All without any restrictions.
Above mentioned Rule may be included into sub-Forum description (i.e. “sticky topic”).

I realize most People are profit-oriented and I do understand it, but by judging everything in such terms, We are constricting Our own Creativity. By interacting on/at such sub-Forum, exchanging Ideas and commenting Them – I’m convinced – each Participant would Benefit from such “Creative Exchange/Expression” without “blocking factor” of “money thinking / calculating approach”.
Moreover, there may be Ideas created by many Beings. After such Joyful and Creative Work, created/”sculptured” Ideas will most likely by utterly Unique and Fascinating. I believe in All of You and your Creative Potential (!)

IDEAS are so much more that any material object and I believe that Ideas have Their Source beyond this Reality – We are the Gateway for the Ideas to emerge and shape this three-dimensional Plane of Existence through Our physical Images/Bodies/Means of Presence “right here, right now”. Therefore I encourage every-One to look at Ideas as something Unique that can be Offered to Other-Selves – incomparable in “worth” to any “material-based” object/event/phenomenon.

All I have Best in me for You

I like your idea. However, posting ideas on the SKMB might create a conflict of interest. Say I post an idea and later a similar idea appears in a SK novel or story.
I could say he "stole" my idea and is therefore liable for a legal suit. The same can be said for any idea which someone could "borrow" and make money from. Though ideas can't be copyrighted, that wouldn't stop someone from causing a stink, if she or he really wanted to.

You're absolutely correct. I can't see any way any sane author (especially one who writes so profusely and on varied topics) would allow such a thing on their forum. Dramat, you could start your own website for such a thing, maybe

This is exactly why we wouldn't be able to do it. I can imagine Steve's lawyers having anxiety attacks if they thought we were doing something like that. ;-D

That's a great idea, skimom2 for Dramat to start this kind of a topic on an outside site.

Hmmm, well, I suppose I must be reading too deeply into Dramat's post because I took his idea to be much more existential... or, at least, on a much more abstract level, than some of you.

It's not a bad idea but in this litigious society we've become, people like Steve have to be especially careful and as this is his "official" site, we have to make sure we keep his lawyers happy and not do anything that would make their (and Steve's) life more difficult. This has the potential for that.

I get it.
I have just read a 3 September 2015 discourse between Dramat and Pucker regarding writing techniques/methodology. I now understand that Dramat is a writer.

I initially thought Dramat to be going to an existential place...

I had a similar idea a few years ago. I had an idea for a story which I was convinced was an absolute winner, but I just could not for the life of me make it work. I was slumming around another forum in the bad part of town at the time I was thinking maybe there might be some scope for setting up an exchange where people could swap those ideas that they were incapable of tearing from their brain and setting down on paper in a coherent fashion themslves. It was meant as a writing exercise of sorts. I remember in school if I was given the title of an essay I could always come up with something, so this would be a similar thing, give soembody an idea to get them going and get one in return. I never put it forward though. Money/success/litigation aside, if you're a writer and you've got a good idea I think you need to hang on to it. You never know when that last piece of the puzzle might click into place and you can make it fly.
