Anyone else notice this at a Barnes and Noble store?

I was just at a Barnes and Noble store last weekend and I noticed in their horror fiction aisle and sci fi aisle there's been less and less if certain books and authors such as barely any Stephen king or Dean joints at all. Even the Star Wars section is almost bare except for Bloodline and the novelizations of Force awakens and Rogue One.

What's going on?

Two or three aisles crammed with Marvel and DC trades while there's barely any Star Wars novels in the shelves. Only three Stephen king books I saw were It, dark tower and Insomnia

I'm surprised B&N remains in business. They have an awful website. One of the worst. Their prices are high. Try to buy a DVD from one of their stores and you will find it is about 50% higher than Amazon. They are doomed.

I like Barnes and Noble, but this is my favorite bookstore of all time. I used to live right around the corner from this place in the early 90's when I was in college. It's been a Fayetteville staple since 1978. Hasn't changed much at all. I used to wander around this store for hours. The pic below of the inside is only about a quarter of the actual inventory. The books are dirt cheap also. A majority of my King library as far as paperbacks came from this location.

Hasn't everyone gone through a lava lamp phase? :p
I didn't actually think they existed anymore. I had two of them but that was back in the early 90's during the Seattle Grunge/retro hippy-ish type years when I was in college and everyone seemed to have them. He read about them somewhere and wanted one but I noticed it's just collecting dust on the back side of this dresser now..lol

I'm amazed that the Spencer's Gifts shop in the mall gets away with having really raunchy adult stuff from male genitalia ice cube trays to other things while the Barnes and Noble I go once in awhile their sci fi book section is getting less and less where they barely have old Star Wars anymore while all they have left is the movie novelizations and Black Series vehicles clogging up the bookshelves.

Sad to see also the only Stephen King books left in a Barnes and noble store is It, one or two Dark Tower/Gunslinger novels and Sleeping Beauties

Turnover keeps bookstores alive, not having inventory sit on the shelves in hopes someday they’ll get sold. I still buy the majority of my books at Barnes and Noble. Just like trying out a book in my hands to see if it fits before buying. Back in my day... around the time of the Spanish Inquisition, if a book store didn’t have what you were looking for they would order it for you. Does this not happen anymore?

It's a great store Cat. The same guy has ran it ever since it opened. He's very quiet and has a couple of family members helping him. He just started taking debit cards a couple of years ago, up until then it was cash on the barrel. He has an entire wall dedicated just to horror novels. It's a really cool bookstore.
