Discussion in 'Different Seasons' started by notebookgirl, Sep 27, 2014.
As the other novellas in Different seasons it is great.
one of my all time favourites.. ehhhhhhhhhhhh..
Todd Bowden is one of my favorite King characters.
He's just so . . . wrong, you know?
"Died pretty hard for a guidance counselor."
I am rereading right now.I had to skip a part
It's defiantly my favorite story in Different Seasons. And that ending, wow, I loved it. I wish King had more of his stories end in a bang like that.
What I like about the end of this story is that we know it was five hours later and almost dark
before "they" took him down
But it is left to us -- as best we can and as we see fit -- to imagine the interim.
I think that Apt Pupil is one of if not my favorite SK story. I just finished listening to it again today and WOW it is sooooo good.
No need to be defiant!
Just bought a paper back of this - Apt Pupil plus the other three stories in Different Seasons - it was at the bank and the money goes to cancer - 2 bucks!
I just started reading this collection and wow! Really love the ending and I just saw the movie last year! Hope "the body" is great, because I really love stand by me! I never knew how much of SK's world, I was exposed to growing up and am determined to read everything I can get my hands on and/or watch!! Slowly but surely..
....that novella far exceeds even the fantastic film adaptation.....
I always found Apt Pupil the most chilling of all the stories.Just your basic next door neighborhood kid. I also think any film adaptation ever lived up to the potential of the book.
It's the only story that ever made me root for the Nazi.
As has been said the only time I felt sorry for the Nazi. The kid was born with something twisted in him just looking for something to bring it out.
