Nobody knows what to get me, and I don’t know what to tell them. Then it hit me the other week... I spend a couple hours in the car almost every day. They play the same music over and over again on the radio. They beat the current sports issues to death on ESPN radio. I’m not fond of NPR when their shows are dedicated to obscure music nobody cares about.

So I said get me audio books. Classics are always good, and older Stephen King novels that I haven’t read in ages would be great. Now everyone says they’re finished shopping for me. (Please let two of them be It and The Stand... please! :))

May wishes be fulfilled. Audio books are great, especially SK books!!

Thank you. But with my luck, as soon as it’s installed I’d drink the bottle in celebration of a win against government over-regulations, stumble and fall off the thing, hit my head and die in a moment of bliss. But it would be worth it! :)

No, unless you're forcibly taking it from him in order to redistribute his wealth? ;)
If the system is already in place is it taking by force? In this case, it would qualify as a system that's been in place since I started working for him and one he voluntarily began so not sure if it's either capitalism or socialism but either way it is very much appreciated by both me and Uncle Sam who gets his cut off the top. Hmmm....we may be back to socialism. Part of the money I was paid is being taken in the form of taxation to redistribute my wealth (that's a very relative term) to the general population. :hmm:

Although it is a tradition, it’s his decision to give you a bonus and his decision on how much it should be. And tell him I recommend your bonus should be 1% of your annual earnings this year for ever year of service you've given him for now on! Something extra special would be nice until your retirement. It’s only money and he can’t take it with him. :)

But in the spirit of fairness he could always have the government take extra taxes out, to get the a 50% rate, and help pay down the national debt. ;)

Absolutely no complaints from me on the amount he's given--he's been extremely generous over the years and must have a similar philosophy to your suggestion as that's pretty much what it figures out to. I do wish Uncle Sam didn't think I needed to be quite as generous in sharing with him as what I have left over sure does mean a lot more to me than it would to someone in that 1% category which is why I don't have a lot of sympathy for their whining about having to pay more. What I have left for spendable income means a lot more to me than just the pocket change it would be to them. But that's a topic for another forum and we could get waaaaay off your original intent by discussing it more here. ;)

His business agent gave up on suggesting he make Florida his primary residence because of the tax benefts so though it doesn't make a difference on the federal level, he does pay back much more in taxes than he needs to by retaining Maine as his primary residence.
