I really enjoyed this one, well I like pretty much all of Stephen Kings books, not all mind you. I was really glad I reread the Shining before starting this one as I would have been confused at the beginning since Hollywood killed off one of the beginning characters of this book in the end of the Shining movie. But I liked that he went a different direction than the Shining while still dealing with human aspect of the father/son genes area of it all and the strength Dan had to overcome this in this book. Not holding it against his father and taking responsibility for his own actions, as well as taking on his own apprentice of sorts, helping her to deal with the site she has. I couldn't put this one down, staying awake more than I should have to read just one more chapter than just one more. Would recommend this to anyone who loves SK's mind.
