Because of Stephen King, his works helped me to get A's in English class

So it was in the 80's.
Yes I'm a happy go lucky nerd, and geek who loves ninjas
But truth be told, the works of Stephen King, helped me to get A's in on my book reports in my
English Class.
There were "assigned" books on a sheet, but we were also about to choose from books we wanted to do.
Well my english teacher, asked me when she handing back my book reported as it was graded, "Why don't you pick a book on the list I had given you?"
My response, "Well if I keep on getting A's, would it be ok, if I keep doing them on his (Stephen King) work?"
My teacher answered with a smile on her face and said "Sure".
I swear that is a true story and not based on a true story, but an actual true story!!

Welcome aboard, Shelly! :) I was a later bloomer, myself. And I got to wondering who out there I might be neglecting to read. Seems like the story of my life...missing the bus. That, or failing to recognize the ride when it passes, stops...me bound and determined, walking down the highway with a Parcheesi game tucked under my armpit. Once in a while someone gets off the bus and grabs you and carries you onto the bus. So what got you interested in Stephen King stories?

thank you for the welcomes..the dragons, the ninjas

The books? Actually I did them before they went to film. It, The Stand, Pet Sematary

Funny story, and swear it's true, and maybe I should put it in another discussion.

So here I am, originally from Boston, but move to Maine, cause I got into being part of films.

Doing one film, (and once again this is a true story) I was a street getting ready to be part
of film, and doing a small part as a Head Boss Ninja.

Now I forget the street names but I probably can find out.

But swear to God, Poop you not, I kid around and go to everyone there..
"Hey, this looks like a street out of a Stephen Kings film."

So the guy who wrote the film, Alan, smiles and says to me..
"Well Shelly, on this street Stephen King grew up somewhere around here and
down the ways is a Pet Cemtery".

My jaw literally dropped. No kidding.

I also found Stephen King's house up in Bangor, but didn't bother Stephen King,
I just took a picture in front of the gate, cause it was really cool

I actually didn't bother Mr. King, just took a picture in front of his house, well
I love his gates in front of the house.
